This hotel has an excellent location right in the center of Alicante, on walking distance of all important sights (beach, pier, castle / fortress, shopping streets, restaurants etc.). We arrived at the hotel early and the room was not ready but they provided a cooling drink and allowed us to leave our luggage while we wandered around the town. Returned a few hours later and the room was presented to us, it was minimal but outstandingly comfortable. All the gadgets were explained and we were left in peace... more

We stayed at the Hospes Amerigo after reading the reviews on tripadvisor which all lived up to expectations. we stayed in the Amerigo great position and lovely hotel, roof terrace nice but not quite big enough for everyone to sunbathe. the beach is a short walk away as is the city with great bars and restaurants. will stay there again 5 star hotel. I found it cheaper to park car in car park around the corner!!! more

LOCATION: Fantastic Location, absolutely central to everything in this relatively compact city, 10 mins or less walk to beach, shopping area, Tram (FGV) station and bar/restaurant areas. I do find some of the comments on here misleading, although respect they are pesonal opinions. There is a comment that there is a lack of slippers, bath robe etc. The hotel and others in the group is known for the standard of toiletries, robes, slippers and towels that are in the rooms.
