Visited Carboneras for a long weekend. The hotel is set on a hill on the outskirts of town with views of the beach and industrial area in the background. The reception and restaurant areas are clean and modern. There was a good selection of local wines which were good and reasonably priced, and bottles were served with a tapas plate.... More

Visited Carboneras for the May bank holiday. Very quiet resort. Valhalla spa a 15 minute walk to the main areas, and there is a steep stairway leading from the lower road. The hotel itself was clean comfortable and has a dominant view looking over the entire town. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Bathroom a little odd as the main wall is... More

Spent here a romantic week-end. Endowed with Nice surroundingd, Valhalla is a charming boutique hotel. We did not go for the suite with the hot tub on the terrace - we were given a very large room, decorated with modern style. Great service, nice breakfast - can get expensive for high season. A great starting point to visit cabo de... More

The hotel is a too expensive for what it is. It did not meet our expectations. The location of the Hotel is not very nice. Coming through the national park of Almeria the entrance of las carboneras is quite shocking. There is a huge carbon fabric where the village has its name from. The village itself is not as emblematic... More

The hotel is modern, not too large, with comfortable rooms of modern design (especially the shower is REALLY comfortable). It is located on the edge of Carboneras and it is very quiet. Superior rooms have a view of the sea, of the long beach and of the village. This means by the way -something that strangely seems to be rarely... More

If you want to relax, and have a calm, silent weekend, Valhalla is for you! Amazing view from the rooms, very nice garden with a cute swimming pool and continental breakfast (they even serve soy milk which is almost a miracle for Spain). The rooms are comfortable, very new and clean! People are helpful even though some do not speak... More

Lovely pool and sunbathing area, with great views of the coast. Loved our bath with water jets. A bit of a walk to Carboneras in the evening, but probably good to walk off the food and try a few of the bars on the way back!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

We stayed in the Valhalla in July 2011, and would go back definitely. The hotel is a modern strucure built on the hill at the northern end of the Carboneras bay, a small white Spapnish town just outside the beautiful natural park of Cabo de Gata. the hotel is a four star, but really you get five star standards on...
