We stayed here for 4 nights while attending the local Celtic Festival. Excellent hotel and Alex & Monica are charming & helpful hosts. The building has been beautifully restored, we had a standard double room which was both modern and very comfortable. The hotel is well placed for touring the local area. The town of Ortiguera was a short taxi ride away.

This hotel is a beautiful and charming property ideally situated for exploring the wonderful Galician coastline. We stayed in one of the attic rooms which is full of character. Hosts Alex and Monica are helpful and charming, and their every recommendation a hit. They really go above and beyond. Don't miss the breakfasts which are different every day, full of... More

Enjoyed this hotel very much. Monica and Alex were gracious and informative. The surrounding rural area is very interesting. Breakfast and dinner were great. Very clean and quiet hotel. We'd love to be able to return one day.

This is one of the best small hotels that I have ever stayed at, it is clean, smart and the attic bedroom we stayed in was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was freshly prepared every day and was different each of the 4 days that we stayed. Monica and Alex provide a perfect example of how to look after guests. Their local... More

Wonderful, classy accommodation in Galacia. The owners were welcoming, charming and helpful. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully converted. We had dinner on the premises - set menu - which was good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and will return both to the hotel and to this lovely area with its wonderful views, unspoilt countryside, good beaches and... More

We stayed at this wonderful small hotel for three nights, 3rd,4th and 5th August 2013 and wished we could have stayed longer. We decided to have dinner here and after three beautiful courses, we also ate here for the other 2 nights. You have a set menu, depending on the fresh food that is locally available. Breakfast is delicious but leave... More

Location: 4km from Ortiguera (5 mins in car or a 1 hour walk). An excellent choice if travelling to Ortigueira for the yearly music festival where the music ends about 5am - I am so glad we did not stay in town. Nearest restaurant is 1k away, or with notice, you may eat at the hotel. Well placed to explore... More

We loved everything about this hotel. The location, quiet and rural yet only a few minutes drive from stunning beaches; the thoughtfulness and attention to detail in the way the former schoolhouse has been restored and furnished; the excellent outside space; the cleanliness of the interior of the hotel; the varied breakfasts and the uncomplicated but tasty and reasonably priced... We stayed in this wonderful boutique hotel last weekend and had the most wonderful time. The hotel is small just 11 rooms and so tastefully restored (originally a school!) original wooden beams in our bedroom and beautiful stone walls throughout. Lovely garden with loungers for relaxing. The décor is minimalist, elegant and inviting. The house has solar energy and is... More

We arrived at this hotel after a long drive and what an amazing surprise! It is a beautiful place, a 100 year old schoolhouse rescued from ruin by the wonderful owners, Alex and Monica. There is such loving attention to detail, right down to an expensive insistence that the original chestnut wood used in the building be reclaimed and re-used.... More
