We started a long 80 mile cycle route from Barr and clocked the Kings Arms on leaving. It was a welcome sight upon our return as we were more than ready for some proper grub. We were made to feel very welcome and the menu had a long list of all the classics you'd be looking for. Everything hit the... More

I went to the Kings for their Valentines night meal with my partner and enjoyed it immensely. A great menu was enjoyed by both of us. The trio of meats went down really well as did the bass.. Thank you Kassie and Jordan.

Just come back from a trip out to Barr, called at the Kings Arms for a drink and snack, made very welcome by both the owners, We had a lovely bowl of homemade soup with fresh crusty bread. It really was very warming and tasty. We will definately go back ,they have a very extensive menu all priced very reasonable. My husband... More

Barr village is a small village about 7 miles from Girvan well off the beaten track in the Stinchar valley. My wife and I went to this pub last night for something to eat. The bar and restaurant area are seperate. The bar area is a typical Scottish theme with a pool table, dart board and "puggie" machine. Our hosts Jordan... More

I was trying to book accommodation online for a business trip to this area. i contacted several BnBs but with no joy. Eventually one of the BnB owners recommended this little pub to me. I looked it up online and found the prices to be incredibly reasonable (£30 B&B), such that I almost expected the most basic of accommodation and... More

This is a family run business that does home cooking. We ate there twice the first time the food was of the highest quality and the staff were attentive and provided good service. The second time they were very busy with a large party and the standard was not as good. I would however eat there again

We saw the pub advertised in our lodgings and gave it a go one evening, and was so glad we did, the food was excellent and the pub had a lovely atmosphere, we even went back for lunch when walking the local trails and dinner, shame we didnt find it sooner or we would have gone alot more.

We travelled here from Girvan where we were visiting family, and were all absolutely stunned by the fantastic level of service we received. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the pub had a fantastic ambience, and the food was outstanding. The whole party (ranging from fussy teenage boy to even fussier 76 year old parents!) found it very difficult to... More

This is a hidden jewel in a beautful location- anyone going to the Girvan Folk Festival should take a detour! The owners are very gracious and couldn't be more helpful. We brought musicians and the owner rounded up some great locals to meet us. The atmosphere in the place is really homely- fo0od and rooms great. You are situated one... More
