We stayed at Wayalailai for two nights, and that was more than enough. We had a bure, which was clean and comfortable, but nothing too fancy. There's a fridge in the room but there's electricity only for a limited time per day (approx. between 6-10 pm), so it's not much use. The owners offer a variety of activities for extra... More

We stayed here two nights, we were going to stay a lot longer but to be honest I could not bare another night. On arrival all seemed pretty good, beautiful beach, great views and altogether clean and tidy. After a very slow and painful check In we were shown to our Bure, right on the beach! Great! Or not. 2... More

I didn't stay at this resort, however we got a boat over from Kuata one day to do the summit walk. Would hiiiiighly recommend doing this walk, the views from the top are incredible. There are big rocks to sit on and take the views in, and get some good photos. The walk took about 2-3 hours round trip. We... More

We got here after our booking got messed up , so the nice lady for the other resort sent us here, really kind and nice of her to find us another place to stay for the same price and benefits, so when we got here we were a bit worried that they didn't know about us coming but for our... More

Although relatively basic compared to more expensive resort like Blue Lagoon this resort cannot fail to charm. From the well presented and very affordable bures to the smiles of all the friendly staff (especially Big Jerry and Mali, Bula!) you'll feel instantly content and welcome in Wayalailai. If you choose to spend your day relaxing on the ample white sand,... More

The island of Waya Lailai has the feeling of being very wild and authentic. It's a resort owned by the people on the island, and it shines through for both good and bad. The good is that it's different from the other resorts in the way that the people who work there are just ordinary islanders. The bad is that... More

I'm reluctant to refer to those who set up meals or provide tours at Waya Lai Lai as "staff." Being at Waya Lai Lai feels more like you've joined a family. While a little more basic than other experiences available in the Yasawa chain, Waya Lai Lai was also my favorite. The burres were clean, the meals prompt, the snorkeling... More

Lets face it, its not often you get to stay with Fijian villagers in their own resort. This resort was built in 1984 and consists of some lovely thatched bures and a longer 'motel' style building (which used to be their school) but which now houses the dorm and the twin style rooms. Beautifully located and smartly built into the... More

Myself and my fiance were travelling on the bula combo pass and had our last stop here. It's a Fijian community owned resort and unlike a lot of the other resorts that have foreign owners and money invested in them. This means it's not as fancy as the other Islands, but the rooms are spacious and the facilities are good.... More

Wayalailai is warm, friendly and real. The facilities are basic but no one should go to a remote island and expect 24 hr electricity and unlimited water. The resort was doing its best despite a 9 month drought. Our thatched bure was adorable and the food was tasty and filling. And when my daughter fussed about the sauce on the... More
