We booked late and were lucky to find this beautifully appointed house. The layout has been well thought out and the finish of all the rooms is superb. The bathrooms are lovely and there is even one with a full-size bath. The soft furnishings give this place a really homely feel. The terraces allow outside seating on both sides of... More

The property owners, Ann and Tony, were delightful and went out of their way to make the holiday special. The property itself was set out really well, spacious, excellently maintained and clean. We treated ourselves often to Ann's delicious home cooked three-course dinners which made for a rest from cooking. The property is away from everything and has an amazing... More

Family of 2 adults, 4 boys plus one girlfriend in August. High in the hills, a peaceful haven with a beautiful pool. The villa was very comfortable and beautifully presented with all you needed for a large group. The owners made us very welcome, despite our late arrival and there was food in the fridge waiting for us. They were... More

Many thanks for your review; really glad you all enjoyed your stay with us. We get used to how much wildlife there is around us, but your review sounds as fascinating as a wilderness safari - sighting a land crab wins the prize; we've only ever seen one before! Very much hope we may see you here again some time. More

We are a family of five: two teenage girls and one 10 year-old boy. We came to Italy having never visited before. It was a wonderful experience. Even before we set off Tony and Ann were supportive and helpful: advising us on the best routes, and what to expect when we arrived. We stayed at Calachiesa for two weeks. After... More

Yvonne and David, we only wish we could have made your stay here more enjoyable! Seriously, you were delightful guests and a pleasure to have sharing our little piece of paradise, albeit for only two weeks. Whenever you are able to return you can be sure of a sincere and enthusiastic welcome. More

We rented the Calachiesa villa for 2 weeks this summer. Our goal was to have a spot that all members of our family could come and enjoy for a few days or a week. 4 sisters, spouses, our dad and some of our grown children rotated through as they vacationed in Europe. What an amazing property. First is the setting,... More

Our Villa was great and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a superb holiday. The attention to detail is excellent and every room feels as though it has been given an extra special personal touch. We had been touring for 3 weeks and the villa was a lovely place to relax, a perfect end to our holiday. We... More

We spent a week in Calachiesa in June 2013. It is a truly special place---a beautifully restored stone house with magnificent views of the Umbrian countryside. The gardens were absolutely beautiful, looking out from the terrace over the pool. Everything was done at a very high quality, from the fully equipped kitchen with a Bezzera espresso machine, excellent beds and... More

....it's a magical corner. Just our luck to arrive at the end of the wettest, coldest, May in 30 years. Italian farming "on its knees" according to one headline we saw on a restaurant television. And yet, Calachiesa charmed us totally. SOS phone call to Tony and Ann had us raiding their wood store for logs, but with a fire... More

We are long time Italy travelers, but in Calachiesa we found our casa! The views are simply breathtaking and they refuse to get boring. The house feels like a warm blanket. The interior is very comfortable. The big outside table is the perfect spot for breakfast or an afternoon game of Monopoly. Calachiesa enjoys the quietness of Umbria and a... More

What an enormous pleasure it is for us to have returning (often) guests, who seem to enjoy being at Racchiusole every bit as much as we enjoy having them here. Thank you Sandra and Peter and the boys and Bo! More

We just returned from Italy, and our stay at Racchiusole was a highlight. It is a hilltop treasure with a lot of privacy and panoramic views. We were there at a pretty chilly time. so will have to return to use the pool and enjoy the warmer climate, but in our case the cosiness was totally welcome and relaxing. We... More
