My husband and I spent a week at the convent with our children aged 2 and 5 (but wish we could have stayed for longer). The old convent is in the most stunning surroundings with so many beautiful places to visit nearby that a week is not long enough. We experienced an authentic Italian cookery lesson, a fascinating visit to... More

My wife, 2 year old daughter and I spent 10 days at the old monastery. The place is located in the hills in the countryside. The place is unique in the sense that it is unspoiled, quiet and surrounded by rustick nature. Also thanks to excellent service from Antonietta (reception), sublime hostship from Francesca and Roberto (owners) and a second to... More

We have had an enjoyable time at l'Antico Convento. Perfect apartment, nice views, very friendly host and owner. Nice quite place in the hills of Umbrie. Perfect arranged cooking lessons. Nothing is too much. Our twin of 10 had a very nice time in the swimming pool. We booked the breakfast, which was perfect with a lot of choices. For... More

My husband and I have just got back from staying at this convent and I almost don't want to recommend it so that it stays a secret. It was such a special place- remote, beautiful and romantic. The convent was on a hilltop surrounded by lavender, rosemary and wild flowers and all we could hear were crickets and birds. The... More

I intended to write this review months ago. What a lovely place to stay. Joan and her daughter took great care to ensure we knew how to drive to the property and gave us a wonderful run down of what to see and do in the area. The apartments are located in a gorgeous, carefully renovated convent. Very clean, quiet... More

Our fouth family holiday (2 adults, three children) in Umbria. Our first time at Il Convento, which I do not hesitate to recommend. We stayed in Il Re appartment. Good sized, clean, very comfortable beds. Lovely location and well kept old buildings. The pool is far nicer than Il Convento's photos suggest, with a good shaded area and lots of... More

A wonderful place with all the luxury of a pool, hot tub, both with a panoramic view over the hills, spacious rooms with authentic furniture and all the equipment you need. Sitting on the sunset terrace, having a nice BBQ and watch the rolling hills of Umbria - what more can you expect from a holiday home. But in addition... More

Want to thank Joan for her wonderful hospitality. A consumate concierge with a personal touch. The Convento is on the onset a little secluded, however, once oriented, the location is ideal for day trips around the region. Once settled, and with Joan's concise directions, everything was at our doorstep.....Cortona, Lago Trasimeno, Perugia, Umbertide, Urbino, Gubio, Montone, Assisi, Deruta, Todi and... More

We just returned from our stay at the Convento Mincione, a beautifully restored convent on top of a hill in rural Umbria. The apartment was huge, with two private bedrooms and baths, and a large living room and open kitchen. From the window, we could see the moon rise over the Umbrian hills. Joan is a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful hostess.... More
