This is the fourth time we have stayed at Low Mill, it is the fourth time that Neil and Jane have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome and it is the fourth time that we have departed and immediately turned to the diary to plan our next trip to The Dales so I can only apologise... More

We agree with other reviewers that Low Mill is exceptional. Ideal location to explore the Dales, the rooms are amazingly comfortable, and imaginatively furnished. We felt very cosseted from the moment we arrived, and the food- WOW! We just had to eat in every night, as both Neil and Jane are talented cooks, and choices on the menu for the... More

A delightful restored water mill. We stayed in the Kiln Room which is spacious and beautifully appointed with it's own sitting room area and shower ensuite. Little extras such as chocolates and home made cookies in the room add to the warm welcome given by Neil and Jane. The breakfast is superb and the dinner was of exceptional quality. It... More

Wonderful place and great people. When someone puts this much effort into making people happy and comfortable they deserve to succeed. Food was outstanding and if you get the chance have a look at the mill workings....fascinating stuff. Can't speak highly enough

We booked our stay from Australia, an easy process as was all the communication prior to arrival including selecting our menu for our first night's dinner. Driving directions were spot on and we were made most welcome with a pot of tea and cake and an introduction the infamous Dennis. The Kiln Room was perfect for our stay - spacious... More

Perfect location in the Dales for walking and cycling. Not often you find a gem like this. The building is a delight, such history and sympathetically restored. Neil gave us full viewing of the water wheel mechanism in action, fascinating. We stayed in the Kiln room which is roomy and looks out over the river. We had one evening meal... More

My wife and I stayed in the Workshop room in May 2014 for our Anniversary. The room is wonderful with the water mill gears and hoist adding to the lovely warm feeling of the guest house and room. We had our evening meal and can only describe the food as perfect and some of the best we have tasted anywhere.... More

This place is lovely, I had booked via email about five months before and mentioned it was our wedding anniversary. One of the owners, Neil, met us and congratulated us our anniversary which was really personal and thoughtful to have remembered. As we entered into to cosy lounge, there was a lovely real fire burning away that instantly gave it... More

By far the best guesthouse we have stayed in (and we've stayed in a few!) Perfect location, immaculate accommodation, quirky interiors and excellent food. The attention to detail is extraordinary. And to top it all, very warm and welcoming hosts. We will definitely be returning!

We have just come back from a mini break around Northumberland and stopped on our way back home in the Yorkshire Dales. My husband had booked all three rooms out for ourselves, our two daughters and my mother-in-law at Low Mill. He said we were in for a treat; he wasn't wrong. The house was stunning. Beautifully decorated and situated.... More
