Roxanna and Keith have moved premises. We never visited the Old Hall but can certainly recommend their new B&B, Riverside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, the welcome was exceptional, rooms lovely and the breakfast excellent. We are two couples and would recommend this B&B to anyone. Jean and Brian Wirral

Thank you folks, I'm glad you were happy, especially since you are new guests it has been a tough time for us after The Old Hall, we felt a responsibility to our former guests because they wanted more of what we offered, we are confident now that we can deliver at the new Riverside. More

Beautiful location in a typical Yorkshire village setting. I was very much looking forward to staying in this old period building and wasn't disappointed. Lovely comfy bed and enjoyed the biscuits ( Jammy dodgers, custard creams etc a real blast from the past!) and tea. The full cooked breakfast each morning was amazing and our host Keith kept up a... My wife and I stayed here for three nights whilst visitng relatives. The accomodation was very good, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was spot on, just the right amount to set you up for the day. Keith the host was very helpful and friendly, we were lucky to get a room as we left it a bit late but Keith called... More

My wife and I booked for 6 nights. Our host, Keith, couldn't have been more helpful; a mine of information on local sights, "eating and drinking holes" and route finding. The Old Hall sits at the heart of Bainbridge, a small, quiet, pretty Dales village. We felt our room was a little small but perfectly adequate and could have benefitted... More

Thank you for your comments. You are correct in that measuring 13ft 6 inches X 11ft the room is the smallest of our rooms but, as you say, perfectly adequate. The 'old bannister' you mention is there because this is a listed building and cannot be removed, granted it takes up a bit of space but the 4 foot double... More

Really could not fault anything about the Old Hall. Kieth is an excellant host and nothing is too much trouble, breakfast will keep you going all day.(regardless of the weather) Boots and all can be dried in front of the log fire, rooms are very comfortable and the twin room we were in was overlooking the village with a superb bathroom. An... More

Ayup you Chris's, thank you for your lovely comments. Ref the room tip, I clearly didn't show you it but there is one other double that has a shower bath (that's the bath with a bulge at one end). I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again soon. More

My boyfriend booked this trip as a birthday present and surprise, he couldn't have picked a better bed and breakfast or area to stay. From the moment we walked in the door the welcome from Keith was warm and friendly. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and modern. Keith's breakfasts were first rate, my... More

Thank you for your kind comments, it was a pleasure to meet you both, a sentiment echoed by all the Riff Raff in the pub here too. It's true to say that with folk up here you get back from them what you put in, so come back and see us all again soon but remember, if you come on... More

Amazing little b&b - Keith has got everything right. Beautiful rooms, immaculately clean throughout. Great on detail like lovely smelling Egyptian cotton towels. Amazing breakfast with all local produce. Keith makes all his guests really welcome. This was our first time away with two children (youngest 8 weeks) and Keith was more than helpful - milk in fridge, advice and... More

Not suitable for anyone with a leg disability due to steep stairs. During the summer months when the central heating is turned off, the bathrooms could do with electric towel rails to ensure towels are not uncomfortably damp when next used. This is a very old building with much character but will always tend to feel cool if the weather... More

Thank you for your input. The house does stay reasonably temperate, not a bad thing when it warms up outside maybe and to offset those in between days, the stove is usually alight, much to the delight of the local coalman. I take your point about the heating of the towel rails though and agree damp towels are not a... More

Keith, the keenest of cooks, provided breakfasts served with a generous portion of north country humour. It was like staying with a good friend, and his vast experience in the hospitality trade shone through with an easy relaxed manor with his guests. We would never stay anywhere else in this area now without contacting him first, and hope to return... More
