We decide to book in at Mt Surprise on the recommendation of a fellow traveller, and we are glad we did; Mt Surprise was indeed a surprise, nothing much except a couple of shops/cafes and of course a pub and a gift shop with local gems . The caravan park itself was good. They catered for entertainment for its clients... More

What a great place, from the moment you check in the place feels good, We booked a on-site cabin which was really very comfortable, the shower was the best. Really good surroundings and the evening meal adequate. A pleasant place to stay if you are out in that part of the country, highly recommended and you must do the larva... More

Had planned to stay only one night passing through but then decided to stay another night and do the Undara Lava Tour put on by the park which cost $82 and let me tell you it is so well worth the money. The park is so friendly and clean and the food is great with home baked pies, cakes etc.... More

We are staying one night on the way to Cairns. Very well designed and organised. Lots of facilities. We are staying budget older cabin. It is comfortable and clean but if more than one night and more than a couple you would need to go to a more pricy room. Park has lots happening for residents. Staff great and friendly.... More

My wife and I are from NZ and we spend two or three month each year touring outback Australia. We stayed here in 2011 and so we were familiar with the place. The park was excellent the first time we stayed and it has only improved over the past few years. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in... More

If you are planning on passing through Mt Surprise then this is definitely the place to stay. The owners and staff are wonderful, happy and friendly. The amenities are large and really clean. The Undara Lava Tubes tour is excellent, way better than the one through Undara Experience. The food prepared on site is yummo, the pizza night is fantastic.

This caravan park was easy on the pocket (compared to East coast caravan parks). The staff were LOVELY - very friendly and very helpful. The showers have great pressure and the shower heads are huge - thank you! Loved the chickens, love it is dog friendly (even though we don't travel with a dog) and I really love that there... More

Drive thru caravan sites, tree shaded areas, good meals, now licensed with extremely friendly staff the overall experience at this Park is great. Plenty to see and the all day tour of the Undarra Volcanic Tubes where you see them all was great and worth the cost. Varying entertainment on at happy hour and the walk to the small creek... More
