We stayed here whilst attending a nearby wedding. The Hotel has ample parking and outside seating. Inside was lovely cosy with lots of private nooks and a large central bar. The staff helped us up to our room with our bags and showed us around. The hotel suite was immaculate with a stunning four poster bed and quality bedding plenty... More

As the title indicates, we had a fantastic time at the Royal over the Christmas period. The rooms were immaculate, beds comfortable and plenty of tea/coffee making supplies. The bar areas and restaurant are lovely, retaining many original features.

Sunday lunch in front of a big open fire on a cold but sunny dày. Nice atmosphere with a mixture of diners and drinkers and walkers. My wife ànd I had a pleasant lunch, Tom soup, pate then mains roast beef and roast pork with nicely cooked veg (not soggy). Puddings, creme brulee and bread and butter pudding with custard.... More

We've just got back from a 2 night stay and everything about it was great! I love the coziness of the pub area - lots of little snug areas with roaring fires. The menu was extensive, the portions plentiful and tasted lovely. The service was always quick and efficient. We were in Hayfield on a walking break, so the special... More

Nice old hotel and bar/restaurant next to the cricket ground in Hayfield. We visited twice for lunch during visit from UK and enjoyed the food both times. Nice interior, cosy fire in one room and good attentive staff. Easy to explore foothills of Kinder from the hotel.

Booked a group function for 50 people for my camera club to celebrate our 30th Anniversary Celebration and Xmas. We were not disappointed. From meeting with Lisa the manger to dealing with dietary needs, seating plan and entertainment; communication was excellent. The menu was extensive to choose from, including vegetarian and the food was cooked to perfection. Price was very... More
