We stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding in the village. We were warmly welcomed. Our room looked recently refurbished, was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and large walk-in shower. There was a good choice at breakfast. Ideal

Never stayed, just ate there. I've eaten here before and it was good. This time it was very disappointing. Everyting (except the chips) was microwaved. We ordered a 'Greek' salad and the 'spicy chicken wings for starters. I'll leave the chicken wings out of it, suffice to say not much was eaten off them. The Greek salad had very little... More

Took a group of over 20 ramblers here for our Christmas do in early December 2015. We had all preordered. The service was first class with dedicated servers for our party, the food excellent, we have all experienced the drop in quality and hike in prices that seems to proliferate in the festive season, you can rest assured that this... First visit to pub and what a fantastic experience. Great food, great service and a very friendly atmosphere. The menu is varied and comprehensive with a wide selection of choice for every pallet. Very impressed with the refurbishment which has seen new dining chairs and tables. Great service from the staff.

Had a 3 night stay at The George, first impressions were how accommodating they were with our telephone booking. Upon arrival there was room to park in the car-park the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was at the front of the hotel and had a well stocked tea tray, the room was lovely and warm and had plenty... More

Tried to stay in this hotel before but always too busy. Great room recently refurbished. Modern spotlessly clean and tidy with separate entrance to come and go as you please. Very friendly young staff with time for a chat. Most accommodating and good food too. Beautiful open fireplace. The hotel have invested in some great upgrades which have paid off.... More

Myself and my partner called here for a couple of drinks and a meal, it was a small cosy country pub with an open fire, there was a nice friendly atmosphere with a well stocked bar. I chose the Gammon and my partner had the Piri Piri chicken, both were of excellent quality, and at a reasonable price, we would... More

Stayed here for an evening to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Even though the weather was horrible we never noticed as we had a lovely dinner and a few pints before retiring to our refurbished room. Was a really nice stay, breakfast was filling - full English, although other options were available. We really love... More

Nice big car park. Easy to book in on line. We arrived to a warm friendly busy pub beautifully decorated for Christmas and were attended to straight away. The room was cosy, en suite, flat screen TVs, good shower and enormous thick towels. Also free shower and shampoo bottles, which were really nice. Great. Tea and coffee making facilities in... More

It's been a while since we visited the George for lunch, but as usual we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. I had the lamb Punjabi, which I havn't seen on the menu before. A fabulous curry, definitely home made, a more than generous portion full of beautifully slow cooked lamb. My wife had the steak which makes us... More
