Lovely welcome from the owner when we arrived. We were doing the St Cuthberts Way and arrived a bit late.Mrs Boyle made reservations at the only hotel in the area for us to eat. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Mrs Boyle was lovely and welcoming. She even gave me a lift into Wooler next day, as my knee... More

Lovely and characterful place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stary here during our walk along St Cuthbert's Way. Ate at the Border Hotel. Kathleen was very friendly and hospitable and this was up in the top echelon of B & Bs.

We stayed two nights. Kathleen was very welcoming, collected us on the first dat from Morebattle and made sure a table was reserved for us at the local pub despite the restaurant being full. A lovely lady

This is a fantastic B&B! We stayed at the Cross Keys House in June 2014 after finishing the Pennine Way. The bedrooms were spacious, immaculate and very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Kathleen is a wonderful host and did all she could to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible – thanks Kathleen! I’d recommend the... More

My husband and I had a warm welcome at this B&B which was where we stayed at the end of the second leg of our St. Cuthbert's Way walk. The room was comfortable and the breakfast hearty. Nothing was too much trouble eg. Kath the friendly owner even dried some wet clothing for us overnight.

We stayed at Cross Keys House after completing the Pennine Way. The B&B is ideally placed right at the end of the national trail and upon arrival, Kathie, the owner came out to greet us and let us know Pennine Way walkers are given a free half pint at the Border Inn across the way. We had a great stay... More

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast in a sleepy little vilage. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the shower was divine. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming. The way all b&b's should be. What more could you ask for!

A cold day in the saddle , its great to have a very genuine warm welcome. Super room with 2 comfy arm chairs to relax in ! The view out of the window was just charming . Across the village green a great village pub with lots of atmosphere & wholesome food . Busy still on a Sunday night.

Mrs Boyle is an excellent B and B host. She is very warm and welcoming. We really liked her. I don't think she is retiring. I would also recommend the hotel opposite for an evening meal. The night we were there they had a lovely coal fire burning.

Stayed one night whilst walking St Cuthbert's Way. Kathleen was very welcoming and our room was warm and comfortable with a decent ensuite. Kathleen booked a meal for us at the pub across the green. Breakfast in the morning was very good and we enjoyed chatting with Kathleen. A great stopover on a walking holiday.
