The Border Hotel was our chosen venue for Mother's Day lunch, and we are a family of 8, from age 11, with special needs, 14, 15, 19, 32 plus mum (obviously!) dad and a cousin thrown in for good measure!!! The staff were very welcoming and even when we turned up 20 minutes late due to our car breaking down,... More

If, like me, you're on a fishing holiday and likely to get cold and wet, this is the place to stay. The bedrooms are warm, the bathrooms luxuriously roomy and the water really hot. And if this is not to enough to restore you, you can eat an excellent supper next to a log fire. That's after you've sampled the... More

The border hotel was our choice for our valentine meal this year, and we were not disappointed. The food was very good, fantastic service by the hardworking staff, lovely atmosphere throughout, and reasonably priced. It was also lovely to see the place buzzing with full tables.

Having stayed approx 10 miles from The Border Hotel for some time it never appealed to me to head out into the middle of no-where for an average meal but following word of mouth mumblings about new management and transformations my nose got the better of me. My first visit was a pre Christmas Meal with friends where the food... More

I ended my 400km walk o the Pennine Way at the Border Hotel pub/restaurant and was made to feel very welcome. The pub shouts you a pint of beer and provides a certificate to all finishers. I stayed for a hearty dinner of delicious Shepard's pie, sticky toffee pudding and continued to go through their wide list of on tap... More

we stopped into the border pub whilst staying overnight in Northumberland and had a meal for dinner. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The meals were very well sized and arson ably priced. Well worth a stop and meal if you a passing through the village.

We didn't actually stay in the hotel but were in a very nice B&B round the corner. The menu here is fantastic. Very varied, so if you only want a pizza or a hot pork/ beef sandwich, you can have it. But if you want something more special the choice is incredible. I had Cullen skink then pigeon with mushroom... More

We were visiting my family at Yetholm and popped into the well loved local 'the Border'. Had a fantastic meal and the service was 1st class. We understand the hotel has new proprietors - well done! Border back to the good old days. We will certainly be back and will spread the word on good it is.
