We stayed here on 24 April whilst walking the St Cuthbert's Way. It's a homely, comfortable B&B with friendly hosts. I'm a veggie and enjoyed the cooked breakfast with veggie haggis very much - a treat I've not been offered before. It was very good value at £60 for a double room and the packed lunches were delicious and fllling... More

The excellent friendly customer service when ringing to book was matched by the welcome on arrival. Dinner was available and the quality of the food was superb as was the extensive breakfast enjoyed next morning. The room and bathroom opposite were spotlessly clean, with a well equipped tea tray and pleasant furnishings. I felt very refreshed after a good nights... More

We stayed here for 1 night on the Cuthbert's Way in March of this year (apologies for the late review!!) To call this a 'B&B' is to under estimate it! It's the kind of place you instantly feel at home. The welcome is tremendously warm and generous and the room lovely! We stayed for dinner and it was truely a... More

This is a lovely place to stay if you're doing the St. Cuthbert's Way, very well situated. My room was very cosy and clean, and I particularly liked the view from the bath tub out into the garden. Great choice at breakfast, too, set me up very well for the next stage of the walk. I definitely recommend staying there.

Our room was very pleasant, clean and quiet. The bed was super comfortable. Owners were very kind and friendly. Location was easy to find. Good pub within a 5 minute walk. Great spot to stay for the abbey borders route. Would certainly recommend to others.

We stayed with Marilyn and Jon for the whole of St. Cuthbert's Way, what luxury, being transported beginning and end of each day, never having to pack each day, and our own little annex, with everything you could want. As for the food, breakfast as much choice as you could think of, packed lunches, homemade cake, and evening meals if... More

We stayed here for one night, looking for somewhere comfortable as my husband had just completed the Pennine Way. It was perfect for what we needed - warm, clean and welcoming - perfect when you're tired, weary and a bit grubby. Our room was small and not ensuite but lovely with a king size comfy bed, really freshly laundered bed... More

This is a perfect pit-stop for walkers – whether completing the Pennine Way or half-way along St Cuthbert’s Way to Holy Island. Marilyn Bridger offers a warm welcome in her recently-converted farmhouse and, with notice, will provide a delicious evening meal. For those who are tired of microwaved pub grub, her home cooking comes as a welcome relief. Breakfast was... More

We are sorry that you found the room too small for your needs. The room has the use of the shared sitting room that we hope makes up for it's size. We do price it appropriately, most other rooms in the village start at £70 and go up to £90, and we have kept the price lower than this on... More

We stayed here for one night whilst walking St Cuthbert's Way. We arrived before lunch time as that days walking was much shorter than we had anticipated but we still received a warm welcome. We changed our plans for the day and were able to leave our bags at the farmhouse then were picked up at the end of that... More

We stayed here only one night (unfortunately) whilst walking the St Cuthbert's Way. Everything was spotlessly clean and we were made very welcome. The excellent breakfast set us up well for a day's walking- the home made cake in the packed lunch was so delicious that we asked for the receipe.
