We were warmly welcomed by the proprietor Clare, the room was immaculate with a sunny aspect. The residents lounge was beautifully furnished with views over the hills. It is very quiet here and is ideal for bird watchers and astronomers. We both feel the cold so we were glad everywhere was warm. Great place for walkers too.

I stayed here with my sister after walking over from Harestanes to Kirk Yetholm on the St. Cuthbert's Way. We were given a fantastic welcome by Clare on arrival and she also took us up the hill to the Borders Hotel for our evening meal which was really appreciated after a long walk. Really spacious room with a good shower... More

My partner and I stayed at this fantastic bed and breakfast over the weekend, whilst walking a section of St Cuthberts way. We were blown away by how friendly, chatty and welcoming david, clare and their beautiful children were. We dropped off some belongings the night before our arrival, and were welcomed by Clare. She was so chatty and very... More

Perfectly located just a few metres off St Cuthberts way and the local impressive pub/restaurant. The whole house is immaculate and beautifully presented. I cannot stress enough how welcome we were made to feel. The owners went out of there way to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. They were totally understanding and assisted us drying our muddy... A delightful place to stay, even home made chocolate cake on arrival. The room was excellent, very spacious, with a lovely hot shower. The breakfast was good and freshly cooked. We sat at a large table with the other guests for breakfast and it turned into a very friendly time with Claire and the family.

Clare and David made our group of walkers very welcome at Mill House. In fact nothing was too much trouble for them, they made us tea and Clare was completely un-phased by us lying on the floor of her lounge stretching out (it had been a long walk that day!). Pleasant bedroom, lots of hot water and a good breakfast.... More

Mill House was located very near the trail for our trek on St. Cuthbert's Way. This was our fifth hotel or B&B in five nights and the room was wonderfuly comfortable. Large with big comfortable chairs in addition to the bed. As we were hiking along the road, a car pulled up to us and asked if we were walking... More

Lovely bedroom - clean, nicely appointed, free wi-fi, etc. Nice breakfast in a very impressive dining room. Friendly hosts. I stayed here after completing The Pennine Way. It's a bit "posher" than most of the places I'd stayed in en route, but I decided I deserved a treat! No regrets. Stay here. It's very nice.

We arrived to the best welcome we have ever had at a B&B. Arrangements for dinner had already been made at the local pub. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was special as our hostess had picked the fruit and made the jam the previous day. In addition there was home made rhubarb compote and fresh yoghurt... More

My hosts were wonderful. The location was a "sweet spot" in the middle of a 110 mile walk, and the room was excellent, with an extremely comfortable bed and a fabulous view. The breakfast was excellent.
