We arrived to the best welcome we have ever had at a B&B. Arrangements for dinner had already been made at the local pub. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was special as our hostess had picked the fruit and made the jam the previous day. In addition there was home made rhubarb compote and fresh yoghurt... More

My hosts were wonderful. The location was a "sweet spot" in the middle of a 110 mile walk, and the room was excellent, with an extremely comfortable bed and a fabulous view. The breakfast was excellent.

Clare and David are the proprietors of this lovely B&B. They have a good choice in rooms or appartments. The rooms are very well appointed and big. Clare is a very good host who makes you feel welcome at once. When we arrived, a table was already booked in the restaurant so we did have no bother at all. The... More

At the end of our Pennine Way walk it was a lovely welcome from Clare with tea and delicious fruit cake. Forgot to thank you for the cake Clare. Huge clean airy rooms tastefully decorated with great views. Brilliant shower. Shame we only had one day would have loved to have stayed longer. Prompt taxi arrangements thank you. Will certainly... Very large and comfortable rooms. Extremely helpful and friendly owners. A super place for B&B at the end of the Pennine Way. Dinner for us was in the nearby Border Hotel but only 5 minutes walk away. A place to go back to any time I'm in the area again.

Stayed with family at end of Pennine Way. Booking it up, I was already impressed by the helpfulness of the owners and when we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms are large, clean, well-equipped and comfortable. Very good breakfast at large table with chance to meet other guests. Definitely recommend this.

During our long distance walk (St Cuthbert) we stayed 1 night at this marvelous B&B in the Scottish Borders. Owner David proudly told us how he renovated 2 3 and 4 centuries old buildings to this great building. Our room was hugh, as was the lounge, with free whisky and sherry!

I stayed here as I walked St. Cuthbert's Way. I arrived soaking wet and sore, but my hosts immediately dried my wet things and showed me to a beautiful suite with skylights and luxurious bedding quite separate from the rest of the house. Everything I needed was there including toiletries and biscuits for tea. Breakfast was so pretty I took... More

Very special place, perfect for St Cuthbert's walk with The Borders Hotel so close by. Room was beautiful, lovely comfy bed and great bath with lots of hot water for a soak after a long walk! Clare was kind enough to book a table for dinner at the hotel so we didn't miss out breakfast was delicious!

Loved it! BEAUTIFUL house (restored by current owners), peaceful and comfortable bedroom and terrific breakfasts. Clare and David are great hosts, and we felt we were being welcomed right into the family home. We were in Kirk Yetholm for a late-December wedding, but it would be a brilliant centre for hill-walking in more inviting weather, or just exploring some of... More
