Just returned from an excellent trip to galtur staying at the Alpen Hotel Tirol. Yes it's as good as the reviews suggest but for a young family be aware there is a short walk to the bus, which can get packed (but the journey is short). We found you can get round the hassle of carrying skis and boots back... More

The Alpenhotel Tirol exceeds every requirement - it goes without saying. What makes this place special is the feeling of comfort and relaxation the moment you step through the doors. The staff anticipate your every need without being intrusive. They are warm, friendly and have a genuine desire to make you feel welcome, well looked after and well rested. We... More

We are a family of 5 ( children 19,16,9) staying in 2 rooms located at the back of the hotel. Both rooms with balcony and stunning views of the mountains. Rooms are good sizes, immaculately kept and comfortable. Food is excellent. Wide choice at breakfast, delightful selection of open sandwiches & cakes for afternoon tea then superb 5 course meal... Just returned from Galtur after a week's skiing. We are a family of four with two teenage girls and all of us enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The other reviews say all there is to say but to recap: Food - beautifully presented 5-course dinners that are typically Austrian (clear soups with dumplings. Salad course. Pork, fish and veal main courses.... More

It's hard to fault this hotel. The food and service from the staff was outstanding. They make you feel welcome. The rooms were tidy and perfect for a skiing holiday. The only minor concern is the steep driveway. It's is ok in shoes but tricky with ski boots on. All they need to do is install some sort of railing... More

I share the review with the previous post. This is hotel is outstanding. Room perfect with amazing comfy beds. Staff are faultless probably due to the management skills from Peter who is a gentleman. Looked after by Karl, Andreas, ( who was kind enough to suggest half portions when I had to skip a course so I could enjoy every... More

First visit to Galtur and the Alpenhotel Tirol. This hotel represents excellent value for money. It is located up a short steep hill but we didn't find this a problem. It is only a short walk to the village centre, ski hire shop and bus stop. The hotel has an arrangement with the Intersport shop where you can leave your... More

This was the second time I stayed at Alpenhotel with Crystal Ski. Friendly staff, gourmet meals-you can't fault this place. At dinner each course is a work of art. We loved nothing better than coming back to the hotel after a hard day skiing to the free afternoon cakes and sandwiches. In the evening we'd sit in front of the... More

A group of 17 of us just returned from a superb week in Galtur staying at this hotel. I booked direct with the owner last March and was very pleased with the reasonable single room rate quoted. I booked 7 singles and the rooms were all double beds and of a good size. The hotel is up a steep slope... More

This was our second visit to this hotel over the years and it was again second to none. Food of the highest quality, beautifully presented. Staff efficient and friendly. Lift pass more expensive than other resorts, but covers Ischgl which is an amazing and vast ski area and you can ski to Switzerland! The resort of Kappl is also worth... More
