The resort is purely a golf resort and is located in an isolated area of Cape Schanck some 25 kms form the nearest town. If you are not into golf, give it a miss as you will be treated like a second rate person. They are not interested in anyone who is not a golfer, golfers get priority over everything.... More

I was travelling on my own whilst playing in a seniors golf competition at the neighbouring National Golf Club. The room was excellent with a brilliant view to the ocean. The evening meal was great they had a two course meal including a glass of wine for $42 - good value considering the quality. Breakfast was great and as I... More

My husband and I stayed in a Permium Ocean View room (room 423) for two nights early April 2014. We were completely blown away by the beauty of the resort and surroundings, and also the friendliness of the staff. Our booking included a buffet breakfast each morning, and it certainly did not disappoint. The rooms are spaceous, clean and quiet.... More

Make sure you book an ocean view room at the Cape Schanck resort. The two bedroom villa is perfect for a family or for sharing at a conference. You'll have your own large bedroom with bathroom and share a common lounge area. The resort has all the facilities, especially if you are a golfer. Great restaurant and food conference facilities... Really enjoyed our 1 night stay. We were in the Premium Ocean View room which had a fantastic view, was very clean, had a comfy bed and was set in a lovely quiet and peaceful location. A beautiful buffet breakfast was included. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would like to bring our son here, he would enjoy the outdoor... More

The accommodation is to be substantially upgraded and in a couple of years you will hopefully get an offering which is more like today's expectation of a resort. In the mean time is you are staying for anything longer than a few days you might want to look for alternative places to have meals as the menu at breakfast is... More

Stayed in the ocean view rooms which had amazing views and facilities. Unfortunately it was only an overnight stay so not enough time to venture out of the area. However, we did have dinner at the hotel which was ok nothing amazing but not bad food. The food during our conference was typical working lunch/snacks I.e. Wraps, sandwiches etc however... More

Rooms were lovely as were the staff. Facilities were good. A good location to do other things. We were in a lower unit and heard quite a bit of noise from the unit above. Restaurant food was great however have to book in advance and close off time to take food back to your romm was ridiculously early, 7pm.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Located at the southern-most tip of Victoria’s glorious Mornington Peninsula, RACV Cape Schanck Resort looks out over rugged Bass Strait and Western Port Bay. It’s here that the historic Cape Schanck Lighthouse sits proudly on the rocky headland guiding ships through one of the world’s most dangerous stretches of water into safe harbour. And it’s here that this contemporary resort is set on one of the most striking coastal golf courses in Australia, offering expansive cliff-top views. While the Robert Trent Jones-designed course is ranked one of the top 100 courses in Australia, there’s a lot more to the resort, and the region for that matter, other than golf. With coastal beauty, rolling countryside, some of Victoria’s best Pinot producing wineries, galleries, produce makers and historic villages, the resort is ideally positioned for a weekend of wine tasting, exploring country markets or gazing out across the fairways to the blue Southern Ocean beyond. Our exclusive coastal accommodation in Victoria offers stylish rooms, suites or house size villas decked out in warm, contemporary décor, with luxurious interiors, balconies and every modern convenience. So kick back on your private balcony with a glass of local Pinot Noir, watch a magical sunset and listen to the ocean waves roll in. ... more   less
