Visiting in early March I'd half expected to have something of a ghost like feel about the place, the season not having started properly. I could not have been more wrong. This is a fabulous hotel, made so by the truly spectacular staff. Courteous, helpful, patient, kind and above all cheerful, nothing is too much trouble and their hospitality really... More

Stayed for a week and loved every minute of it. The hotel was very ornate and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was plentiful, ham, cheese, eggs, loads of cakes and a good fruit selection. We had a room which faced the pool and enjoyed watching the weddings in all their splendour. The grounds were spectacular... More

We decided to book this hotel while touring the Amalfi coast, Sorrento and Salerno. We stayed for 4 nights. We needed a twin room but because we booked late, only the triple room was available, so we took that. The room was HUGE. There was a king size bed that was very comfortable. There was another single bed that wasn't... More

Folks, if you have a car and travelling to this area, do not hesitate to take advantage of staying in this unique baroque hotel. You will not b able to replicate this experience of the surrounding in many other places at such an incredibly reasonable cost. The hotel is classically Baroque, beautifully and tastefully (not gaudy) decorated. It provides excellent... More

We stayed for a week as a base to travel the Amalfi Coast, do Vesuvius, Pompei, etc. Well situated for this. The hotel décor was quite spectacular and yes there are a lot of weddings but sitting at the outdoor bar watching the guests each evening was like being at a Milan fashion show each night. And we were never... More

Forget the decor, this is a great option for a family stay whilst you do Pompeii etc - 20 minutes up the motorway. Our room was spacious for 5,quiet and with lovely views to the hills. The pool was just the right temperature, with plenty of sun beds and a good size. The staff, especially Danillo, were charming and helpful. We ate at the... More

We have just returned from ten days at this hotel, which we enjoyed very much. As others have said its main business is weddings, sometimes two or three a day. The weddings seem to be fairy princess affairs, but we could use the pool throughout and the wedding guests seemed not even to notice, let alone mind. Probably what makes... More

We stayed at the La Sonrisa for 5 nights as a bit of a treat, rather than any chains that were around the Naples area. We were certainly not disappointed, the Staff were excellent...extremely friendly with us & our 2 boys, always asking how we were & if they could help with anything at all. The food was excellent &... More

Our family had two very fine days here. A facinating place. The kids loved the pool, we had very fine rooms and we only met very kind, kompetent and serviceminded staff. Fine place to stay when you wish to explore Vesuv, Herculanum and Pompeij area - makes it easy to combine cultural experiences and summer relaxation :-) Pernille

This is quite possibly the tackiest hotel I have ever stayed in. More pink chintz than a bridal shop and just as much bad wedding music. Dinner menu limited with only pasta and pesto as a vegetarian option. Breakfast was ok with plenty of choice to meet every taste although the eggs looked greasy and overcooked. The pool was a...
