The masseria is a beautiful historical building with spatious airconditioned rooms. Even though we arrived late, we were received most kindly and could have dinner. The owner and personnel of the agriturismo are most hospitable. We dined in the agriturismo twice. The courses were tasty, although not very exquisite. The breakfast is excellent though (home-made pies and marmelades, lots of... More

We stayed for a couple of days at the end of July. Although we live abroad, we are both Italians and very familiar with this specific region of the South. The structure is charming and well kept, but the location is unfortunate: the distant skyline offers nothing but big factories and industrial agglomerations. The restaurant is ok, nothing fancy and... More

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, to see the dining room full of happy Italian families having lunch. When it came to our turn at dinner, we had an excellent meal, and the charming chef came to explain each course, as well as helping us to understand the background of the Olive farm, and the choice of the grape varieties... An excellent choice for anyone considering visiting Bari. It is only 20 minutes drive from central Bari but much better value for money. Also only 17 minutes from seaside town Mola Di Bari and 29 minutes to the fantastic cliffs/beach of Palignano Large rooms. Romantic. It is an operational farm and they make their own wine. We marked them down... More

There is not much I can add to the great reviews received so far, I can only confirm what has been said before. Unfortunately we stayed only one night and my only regret is not to have stayed longer to taste some of the great food that was coming out of the kitchen. The atmosphere was very friendly but also... We stayed 9 nights in this lovely stone building and enjoyed the food, the people and the area. New Years Eve featured a 13 course dinner for 120 people! Not bad for a place with 9 bedrooms. And then they repeated it for New Years Day midday meal. It's within easy access to Alberbello and Castellana Grotte where the caves... More

We just returned home from our holiday in Europe. Today we are reliving our experiences and have come to the conclusion that our stay at Lama San Giorgio was the highlight of our trip! Spending time at this charming, impressive ancient stone dwelling made us feel what life was like in the 13th century....with all of the conveniences of modern... More

My husband and i spend 2 nights at Agriturismo Lama San Giorgio in the Southern Italy in june 2010. We enjoyed our stay very much. Lama San Giorgio has a very nice and friendly atmosphere, the staff is very nice and the owner Giovanni Scianatico is a very friendly, nice and interesting man. What he does not know about the... This is an old farm, beautifully furnished, well-heated and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast is better than most in Italy, fresh farm produce that is delicious! They even used local produce for a dinner we ordered according to our diet restrictions and really understood what we needed/meant. Apparently they are expert at lactose-intolerant or... More

We booked the Lama San Giorgio for the last evening of our family holiday in Puglia. We speak fluent italian and have travelled extensively in Italy. We have had very good experiences of agriturismi in the past and were looking forward to the usual hospitality and wonderful food found in these places. We received a frosty reception on arrival which... More

Dear Sir, We answer only now after 7 years to explain to those who read this comment today that your comment has been very useful to improve the service offered. In particular, we moved the dog (that was near and not the owner) and in the meantime the cook is now Mr. Angelo, very good and courteous. The improvements of... More
