This place is just idyllic. Forget the image you have of Tuscany with it's rolling hills, cedar trees and fortified hill towns. The accommodation is excellent and Mama's cooking is amazing. A very relaxing week and a fabulous base to explore this hidden corner of Tuscany.

We stayed here on an Exodus holiday in August 2014. Everything from the rooms to the pool and the food are pure Italy. Walking in the Garfagnana hills around the lodge just re charges your batteries, and what the hills do for your body Mamas cooking will do for your soul.

Had a fab week in May 2014, staying in a lovely lodge in the grounds. Home made simple Italian cuisine made our week of yoga and walking at this peaceful retreat in the Garfagnana valley in Tuscany just perfect. The family are first class hosts with a vast knowledge of the area. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who loves... More

Beautiful setting in the Garfagnana area of northern Tuscany. The Giovanetti family are really friendly hosts, mamma's cooking is wonderful, Bruno's wine is delicious and the family's combined knowledge of the area is amazing. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

This is a gem of a place. I stayed here on an Exodus Walking holiday the first week in May. The accommodation exceeded expectations. The rooms were very comfortable and although not "serviced" like a traditional hotel - towels changed and room cleaned just once during the week it does not matter. The food is to die for - all... We were a party of 15, three families with an age range of 11 to mature adult! We were made to feel very welcome at the farm house. We stayed in "small villas" and went to the farmhouse for meals, although there were self catering facilities as well. The farmhouse was beautifully situated with fantastic views from the patio. The... More

I wasn't sure what to expect when a large group (15) booked through Exodus for an activity week, but our week was more than could have been expected. The activities were pitched exactly right and Rupert was an excellent tour guide - patient and informative throughout. We are all pretty active people, but everyone had the chance to challenge themselves... More

I stayed here for a week in August as part of a walking holiday with Exodus. We were made to feel right at home. Although the rooms were fairly Spartan, the food was tasty and wholesome. It was a fantastic treat to jump into the swimming pool after a long day's walking to cool down. There is a 6-hole par... More

I stayed here for a week in June 2013 as part of an Exodus walking tour. You are made to feel welcome and part of the family from the moment you arrive. While some of the rooms are quite small they are comfortable and clean and have everything you could want. The food is exceptional, as is the wine! Mama... More

This trip is perfect for kids from 11 - 17. I booked myself and my 15 year old son on an Explore teenage adventure in July 2013. The week consisted of Kayak, Ropes in trees, Canyoning, Climbing, Walking, Swimming, Pisa/Lucca, pretty villages, Bike riding (down hill), train rides and a village festival. Our group consisted of seven adults and eight... More
