A very unique hotel with a lovely first class suites built into the treetops above Plattenburg Bay. The food is excellent and the service was superb. Visiting the Zenzi restaurant is a must. The breakfast is also excellent. The managers always seem to be available to help with any particular issue. The hotel is expensive at full price but many... More

Having left the St James at Knysna just down the road we set off for Tsala Treetop Lodge. Having read the reviews and seen the photos, both official and other travellers, we could not wait to see what it was like. The answer is wonderful, fantastic and many other adjectives. On arrival we were warmly greeted, handed a refreshing drink... More

Myself and my wife stayed here recently for 2 nights in a Treetop Suite. These are amazing! Up in the trees, with lounge, bedroom, bathroom, 2 decks and your own infinity pool! The whole suite is luxurious. There is even a log burner in case you get cold. The view from your decks are great, just nothing but trees and... More

This was our 2nd visit to tsala. We visited 2007 and stayed in family villa. There was no comparison this time. Our couples suite needs updating. The patio furniture is falling apart, the plunge pool is cold and dirty, the outdoor shower was terrible, the bathroom fittings need updating. The breakfast was very poor. Not 5 star experience!!

During our three week trip to South Africa this was definitely one of the highlights (if not THE highlight, but I really did enjoy the safari part…). This is an absolutely beautiful place. The suites are so private, and are beautifully built and furnished. Being all alone in this magical place was very special. We were only there for 2... More

This was where we chose to spend our last few days of our South African trip and we were not disappointed. Such beautiful rooms set in the forest canopy. A lovely lounge and two terrace areas. Plunge pool (too cold!) but pretty all the same. Weird at first to spend the night with monkeys and baboons so close but soon... More

I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is, without a doubt, my favourite hotel in the world. Pure perfection. It is almost impossible to describe what it feels like to stay in such a luxuriously appointed treetop with incredible views. And the staff was simply outstanding.

We spent 2 nights here during a 3 week trip and only wished we'd stayed longer. Rooms are large and very private. Very relaxing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Both the restaurant at Tsala and Zinzi's are great. My only gripe is that the suite we were in had no sun from about 3pm onwards and was actually quite... More

classic luxury clad in stone and wood with a strong African decor vibe- make this hotel in the treetops special. I loved the sight and sound of vervet monkeys in the valley below and the view across the forest is to die for for someone like me who loves trees. The food is simply heavenly.... fresh; exotic and dangerously tasty.... More

This was a fantastic place to stay. We were on our honeymoon and was a little treat to stay here for 3 days. when we drove up I was a little apprehensive. I needn't have been this place is incredible. Manly because of yoru tree house suite, which is high in the trees, with its own lounge, with log burner... More
