A lovely, small authentic castle (in various states of ruin but still fully functional) with friendly, accommodating staff. We had no hassles with storing our luggage at the owners cafe in Kamp Bornhofen while we went back and explored Boppard (a beautiful town across the river. Well worth exploring and especially worth going up the chairlift to a cafe on... More

The castle is part of a little town and your stay includes a free taxi from a restaurant in the town up to the castle when you get there. The scenery was very pretty and their sister castle is a short walk away. We went to our castle for dinner both nights, and their food is fantastic. My wife said... More

We waited and kept calling this hotel for 1 hour after we get off the boat. We informed our arrival time few days before arrival. The Hotel replied that we can find their Cafe near the port to arrange shuttle. We arrive on time however the cafe already closed on that day. We called the hotel 6 times but no... More

This hotel seems to have an identity crisis. If it is meant to be a useful stopping off point for hill walkers, then I am sure it ticks all the boxes. If it is meant to be a romantic destination for couples then it only ticks some of them. If you want views, character and location then it's definitely for... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights in the Castle Suite and could not have been more pleased. The views from the room and the dining areas were spectacular, and the atmosphere anywhere on the property was exactly what we were hoping for. The magic and the history of the castle experience wraps around you throughout and in my... More

My daughter and I spent 2 nights in one of the rooms overlooking the Rhine. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view and our room was very clean and comfortable. The only downside to the room was the train noise at night. We needed to keep the window open because of the heat, but the trains came so... More

Stayed 1 night in the castle suite at the begining of May. As other reviewers have mentioned the access to the suite is interesting - a narrow winding staircase (watch your head)and then a steepish loft ladder type stairs to the room itself - it appealed to our sense of humour. After we had finished laughing we transfered our overnight... More

This was our first stay in a castle and the whole family enjoyed it. Just pack a light bag if you are staying in the family suite as you go up a steep angled spiral staircase where you have to duck your head to get under another staircase up to your room. We didn't mind at all as we loved... More

I can't believe that I stayed at the same place that some of the recent reviews describe. I agree that it is a difficult place to rate, and I certainly don't give 5 stars unless I feel that they are thoroughly deserved. Surely it means that nothing could be better? My wife and I are in our mid 60s. Our... More

Visited this castle hotel about five years ago and had the opportunity to visit it once again. It is a great place to visit if you want fantastic views and an old world charm. The hotel is run by an older couple who speak a little english, but plenty if you're polite and understanding. Eat dinner with a view. There... More
