So glad we booked this. Our 11 yr old son loved it. The suit of armour on the way to the rooms was great. The chair in the room had a broken leg. The shower stall didn't drain and the wait person seemed a little sad - but it's a castle - so it didn't spoil anything (I hope the... More

For our last night in Europe, my husband and I wanted to do something special. So he searched for one of the ruined castles in the Rhine valley that had been converted into a hotel (we later saw in our travel book that Rick recommends this one; rightly so). Burg Liebenstein was just the coolest! The décor is medieval, but... More

a 900 year old castle with the most spectacular views of the rhine. rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller but absolutely clean and comfortable. the stay is worth it just for the view and the breakfast is fantastic. we stayed a nite at the castle therefore chose to opt for the romantic candle light dinner so it worked... We loved our stay at Castle Liebenstein! Our boys were ecstatic to be staying in a real castle. The decor is authentic, rooms are clean, and there are amazing views everywhere. The staircase is tight and twisty, but we felt this added to the charm (and we fortunately traveled light). The shower in our room was small, but it didn't... More

There's castles and then there's CASTLES! This one was built about 800 years ago and sits 140 meters above the Rhine River overlooking the town of Kamp-Bornhofen. We got the canopy double bedroom with the river view and gentlemen let me just tell you, show your lady this room and you're promised some castle romance, trust me! The bathroom is... More

Altnough I researched the castle rooms on their web page, I was not prepared for the difficult climb on the uneven circular staircase to our room. We almost crawled up on all fours, which is difficult with luggage. Once we got to the suite, it was great. Beautiful views from two different angles. The bathroom, however, is beyond "small". A... We stayed one night, just for the castle experience. The hotel is very authentic and provides just that "castle experience". The beds are comfortable, but small. The views are breathtaking. The restaurant is ok, we had dinner (which was ok), and breakfast that was very nice. We had issues with the wifi and could not connect. The staff could not... More

Grandparents, adult children with their spouses and grandchildren were all totally enchanted by the candlelight dinner and then spending the night in this most amazingly situated castle hotel. The rooms were decorated in the style of medieval knighthood while being comfortable and offering spectacular views of the Rhine. The bathrooms were basic but with every 3* comfort needed. Electric heaters... More

We spent one night at the castle and really enjoyed it. The ceiling are low and the rooms are small, but that is to be expected with an old castle like this. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We didn't have dinner with them, but did have the breakfast which was excellent. The atmosphere was great - very quiet... More

My husband surprised me with an overnight stay in the castle suite. He added in the candlelit dinner for two as well. The castle, room and dinner were amazing. We had a killer view of the river from our sitting room. We were able to climb a bit higher for a panoramic view of the Rhine. Nice and attentive staff... More
