Right at border of the beautiful wine growing area Wachau Valley in Lower Austria I stayed in this beautiful hotel right next to the Danube. I had the pleasure to stay for 3 nights, and each one was more than worth it. The hotel with its great architecture welcomes its guests from the first minute. It is nicely situated right... More

Highly disappointing check-in experience because as hot sweaty cyclists arriving on time to check in just after 2pm, we were given the key to an extremely small dark dusty smelly room looking out via a dirty net curtain onto some litter by 1 poor staff member ( a waitress) who was friendly and understanding enough but did not have any... We stayed two nights during a recent motorcycle tour of Europe. The hotel is in a very quiet location with no other restaurants or bars close by. Once dinner was over, they seemed to close the bar and there was no one available to get you something. On our second night a coach tour was in the hotel so the... More

Stayed three nights in this cute little Austrian hotel. Good hotel away from crowds Nice quite remote location, except for some street noise. Nice breakfast room with typical German/Austrian breakfast. Table clothes and cute appointments. Bright and cheery. Free wifi in rooms although a pain to keep loggin on each time. Nice patio to eat, had dinner there as well.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel with its beautiful view of the Danube and the Melk Abbey across the river. They have bicycles available to ride along the Danube. Even for someone who hasn't done any bicycling for years, the trails were easy to ride and the villages were fun to explore. Of course, watching the swans and... More

I was upgrading my reservation by telephone to an "indulgence room" (paid upgrade) and this was confirmed. I asked for a quiet location to the rear of the hotel and also asked for a pick-up at the train station, several kilometers away at Melk. It all worked well. Finding, that the room had small roof windows only, resulting in a... More

My wife and I are just back from a driving vacation in Southern Germany and Austria. We read about this hotel on Tripadvisor and just showed up without a booking. The location, opposite Melk Abbey and on the banks of the Danube is hard to beat. The Pichler family that runs this (and a few other nearby hotels) hotel is... More
