This hotel is charming - the room was lovely, the breakfast on the terrace was perfect, dinner was excellent, and the location was great for visiting the vineyards by the Cotes du Rhone. Our hostess, Dominique, was lovely and entertaining, and we felt welcomed and valued. Only minus - the pool was freezing!

Wonderful and peaceful place in the heart of Provence. Our family of 8 people had a perfect lunch here and our parents even decided to come back here to spend few days. Service is perfect, personnel and owner are gentle and helpful, they kindley informed us about interesting places to visin and events of the region. Our lunch in the... More

We arrived late by train in Avignon, made it to the chateau at 10:30 pm and everything was closed up. We called ahead to say that we would be late and were told to try to make it before 11pm. After a difficult drive navigating foreign roads at night we finally arrived. We found the front door to be open and... More

Stayed there one night on the way south and decided to have dinner at the chateau as well. The food was very good with good service, and the room was nice. The family was friendly. But the surroundings need some make over.

Visiting the Gigondas/Sablet area, I stopped at Chateau Le Martinet for a lunch on the terrace. The Chateau is a beautiful ancient building bordered with vineyards with a swimming pool and garden. A nice alley and a pond with turtles and fishes welcome the guests.. A few tables are displayed in front of the hotel where ones can have lunch... More

Stayed here en route to Beaune from the south. I wanted to check out a few moments after check in. The place was unkempt, dirty, and the service was absolutely horrific. I have been all over, to 5 star resorts, to 2 star hotels, and have NEVER felt so unwelcomed and uncomfortable in my lifetime. The woman who checked us... More

Our overnight stay at Chateau le Martinet was meant to be a little treat before we embarked on a 3 week camping holiday. The suite we booked was very agreeable, the entrance was at the rear of the main building, but the immediate surrounding area was in need of a makeover. It was not a very inviting area and we... I stayed here for one night with my wife and two teenage children as a stopping off point on our long drive from the UK to the South of France. I found the hotel via this web site, and booked via booking.com, taking three double rooms for the grand total of €435. Arriving at 8:30pm, after a little difficulty in... More

On first arriving hotel looks grand, and well presented. we were then escorted to our garden suit (converted out buildings). We had an issue with the room - sewage smell coming from the built in wardrobe. Owner showed us one room that we could swap to, but this was not satisfactory. We were given an air freshener and told to... More

Dominique and the whole family are so warm and welcoming! Despite my poor French, Dominique made reservations for us, helped us with our bags, and was really wonderful. We stayed in "Le Petit Provence," a more expensive room in a separate building from the Chateau. It was worth the extra cost--we had a beautiful bedroom, sitting room, and huge bathroom... More
