My wife and I had the pleasure of spending several days at the Old Forge House B&B in the pretty village of Chateaulin in Brittany again this year. We made our reservations through the email address given in the B&B's website. As on each of our previous visits, we were met at the train station by Andrew and Lesley, the... More

This is the third year that my wife and I have stayed at the Old Forge House in Chateaulin. We keep returning to this B&B primarily because of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere created by Andrew, Leslie and Richard, their very able and helpful assistant. As in the past, they spared no effort to make our shortened stay as pleasant as... More

Many little things that make your stay wonderful! Very warm welcome, kind and happy people, nice and rich breakfast, pleasing tea in the big room with a nice wrought iron bed. The position is good to explore all the Finistere.

We stayed in several B and Bs on our week-long cycling around Brittany. This was by far the best. From the moment we arrived we were treated as friend,s offered a drink and just generally became part of the family for the night. The room was tidy a clean and had a large collection of fresh milk, tea, coffee, hot... More

Two nights at The Old Forge and Andrew could not have been more friendly or helpful. You feel like a guest from the moment you walk in. I stayed over with my two teenage boys. We had a private part of the house with the two rooms adjacent and a door separating us from the rest of the house. Two... More

In combination with a trip to Sarlat and other villages in the Dordogne, my wife and I returned to Chateaulin for a brief visit to that pretty little town. And again this year, we stayed for two nights at the Old Forge House, a very welcoming B&B located within a ten to fifteen minutes walk from the center of the... More

Stayed here one night on a cycling trip. Hosts very friendly. Room OK for the price which was very reasonable. Good WiFi.The house is a little away from the main canalside on a fairly busy road - about 8 mins walk into town.Chateaulin not the most inspiring town however.

Arrived after cycling fom Roscoff hot and tired. Warm welcome and excellent rooms. Good value and great hosts who even offered us a glass of wine and a chat when we returned in the evening. Altogether we spent 7 nights staying in hotels and B&B on our cycling trip and this was by far the best breakfast. They even suggested... More

The Old Forge House is a quaint B&B with character and charm run by people who really care about their guests. Originally from England but settled in Chateaulin, they were there to greet us when we arrived and chatted with us in the morning. The building is older but the renovations they have done so far are lovely. The location... More

Arrived hot and tired after a cycle ride from Carhaix. Room and shower lovely. Comfortable bed with lots of tea bags and coffee that you can help yourselves to. Hairdryer and lots of other things that we didn't get in other places. Great breakfast. Place for bikes in huge shed (called the hanger) The best thing was Andy's advice on... More
