Having been to many private game reserves in SA, including Phinda, Shamwari and the like, I was thrilled to learn about a relatively new reserve (only 11 years old) on my doorstep (just 2 1/2 hours from Durban). Nambiti reserve is small but packs a punch especially if you are with an experienced guide who knows where to find the... More

Rooms are very comfortable and have a lovely outlook over the dam where we spent one morning fishing! The game viewing was excellent. Elephant Rock is simply LOVELY! From the welcome warm sherry and hot towels, to the yummy free-flowing coffee and hot chocolate (which my son had A LOT of), to the amazing room, the hot bubble bath after the afternoon drive, the amazing game viewing (we had to check if we were in Kruger Park!), to the unbelievable view of the... The experience at Elephant Rock was amazing, right from the booking process up until my departure. Every single staff member that you meet is incredibly friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and will go out of their way to assist you with anything you need or questions you may have. The accommodation caters for a small number of people which in my opinion... More

The reason I chose this venue was it was the perfect location to take 5 English friends - as we were driving from Johannesburg to Durban before setting out on the garden route to Cape Town. Well not only was the location convenient, but I could not have wished for better for my guests. Having been to many game lodges... More
