The hotel building is truly fantastic, from the large sitting rooms to the smallest details of decor in the dining room. The rooms are lovely, the staff very helpful (and nice, which is not always the case in such a posh place) and the swimming pool glorious. We travelled with our 3 children who all adored the place too. We... More

Our experience at the Villa Matilde was disappointing. Our room (located in a newer building at the back of the garden) wasn't up to scratch to start with, e.g. because of a large crack in the wall by the door and some very old fashioned and tired pieces of furniture. What we especially didn't like was the faulty TV set:... More

We hit traffic just outside Turin and came off the motorway on our way south to find this jewel of a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The mansion is delightful with extensive grounds and free secure parking. The food is good - a great stay!

We had high expectations as we booked a suite for more than 200 euros per night. Considering the location of the hotel which is somewhere in the boondocks this is a fairly high price for what we were presented with. Staff was unfriendly and demotivated throughout, the pool closes at noon time (18:30) for no reason and one TV in... More

We stayed a week at Villa Matilde and enjoyed every moment. The rooms, premises, food, staff and service were excellent. The location is great for wine trips to e.g. Barolo. Turin is only 30 km away and a great place to shop. We can highly recommend Villa Matilde.

This review is written following our third stay at the Villa Matilde. It is ideally located near the motorway network and is a little bit of luxury, to break up a long journey. There is a lovely outdoor pool which guests can use, free of charge. I'm allergic to gluten (coeliac) and must adhere to a strict gluten free diet.... More

We are returning from our week long stay at this hotel. The staff are on point, very accommodating too. The location itself, you need to access it from the main road. Great location if you're looking for a quiet stay in a gated estate. The food was beautiful. Dinner, mini bar and room service are very expensive. However breakfast is... More

It is part of SINA Hotels... it is a grand old hotel building..it needs love and care to bring it back and get more customers thru... The rooms are grand with big bathrooms. The inside of the hotel is beautifully kept. The grounds are nice but need a caring hand. This is a great way to see the old Italy... More

We were here at the end of the season and it really showed. Thought we were the only guests for a few hours. We had a large room overlooking the park and the facilities were good. We chose this hotel because it was a SINA hotel. We stayed at a sister hotel in Perugia - they are quite different. There... More

Fair value for a big, old, charming place. The surrounding town is not that special however once you're inside it is pleasant. Probably better times of year to visit than August - it's humid so the aircon struggles, which makes for restless nights. A few monster mozzies too!! Otherwise, pretty good.
