We found this purely by chance whilst travelling through France on our way to Spain. So glad we stopped here in this charming village to break our journey. We met up with the owners Chris and Christine who could not be more helpful. Our room was delightful, mixing a traditional French look with modern comforts. Couldn't recommend it more and... More

We stayed here three nights last week, and found it very comfortable, with a large and well-arranged room and bathroom, a comfortable bed, nice furniture, and a much appreciated kettle and cups. The owners are English ex-pats who have been there 21 years. A microwave and fridge space are made available in a common room, which is a nice touch.... More

We booked a 1 week stay on line at Val d'aleth trusting the information and images about the campsite on their website - I wish we had never found it or believed their website! Most of the Campsite pitches are not big enough for a family tent, cooking area and vehicle. They are furthest away from the toilet block and... More

It is a shame that these campers left our campsite so disgruntled and so misinformed. The fact that they decided to ” stop asking us” for information preferring to simmer, whilst preparing a report to publish, instead of expressing their problems “face to face” is also a pity. It is also nonsensical that they should chose a B&B page which... More

We loved this small campsite. The pitches are ample and well kept and some are by the river which is fenced off. The amenities were kept very clean and the showers were great as you don't have to keep pushing a button for a little more water like in some sites. The playground kept the children entertained and there is... More

My husband and I like prefer small villages to stay in for several days and to tour the surrounding areas by car and return home to our Chambre d'hotes/B&B at night. Val d' Aleth and Alet les Bains couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. Besides the accommodations being pleasant and comfortable and well priced, our hosts were amazingly... More

Very comfortable and friendly hotel, Christine can't do enough to make sure your stay is a great one. The location is stunning and the medieval village amazing. Good location for visiting the surrounding area well worth a visit.

The B&B is run by an English couple; so if your French is as good as mine (i.e. close to non-existant) fear not. The owners are very friendly, and the rooms are very nice, too. The campsite (same owners) is small and has wondeful pitches at the river and close to the ruined abbey. You can't find a much more... More

This B&B is in a charming village in a very interesting area. It's an excellent, comfortable, genial place with access to everything you need, including a peaceful and attractive garden, covered outdoor table, and dining room with fridge and microwave. The room was big and comfortable with a good remodeled bathroom. Christine was an efficient and obliging bilingual hostess who... More

We had a terrific time and the b&b was so welcoming and comfortable. A very central spot to explore the cathar region. The b&b is surrounded by greenery and a peaceful river and the building is so charming - all in all an excellent spot to holiday.

We regularly travel to the Languedoc in the South of France an have visited this B&B more than once. We like the classic town house with all the mod-cons. All rooms are nice and very clean with a street view and French shutters! The windows are double glazed so there is not much noise when they are closed. Most rooms... More
