Stayed here for a week with a group. The grounds are stunning with an ancient monastery next door for exploring. Rooms very basic, but clean and comfortable. No A/C, but didn't need it in September. Food at the hotel was delicious, Travel was in September of 2010

This hotel is lovely. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. It is peaceful and serene and a serene place to sit and sip wine or dream on the grass under the beautiful old trees. The rooms vary in size, but are well-kept, perfectly cleaned, and comfortable. Te food and wine were wonderful--clean, well-cooked, and beautifully served.

A very nice hotel in the former residence of the bisschop.Situated in a park with trees hundreds of years old the buildings are restored to Original. The room we had in the main building was very sober, but had all facilities you needed for a short stay. Own shower and toilet are not common in older hotels like this in... More

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of local friends and were pleased with the entire experience. The garden setting next to the Abbaye and Aude river was great and, the old stone dining space itself, truly evocative with a sense of deep-rooted history. While the place probably is very crowded and popular during high season, there are many... More

Whilst we haven't stayed at the hotel as we camp along the road, the meals there are always great, served by a really caring staff who have plenty of time for their customers and make the ambience on the lovely open, but shaded, terrace just perfect. Food and wine are sourced locally, we had trout one night which was caught... More

We have been returning to this part of France for many years and the Hostellerie de l'Eveche is a must everytime. The location is idyllic - having a glass of Blanquette de Limoux in the riverside gardens on a summer's evening is just divine. And a stroll around the village before dinner makes for a great evening. The restaurant is... More

This is a beautiful atmospheric dining room and we were excited to have dinner here. We have just purchased a home in the area and we have been trying different restaurants each time we go out to eat. This was our biggest disappoinment from the non existent welcome to the food. We both thought that the choice on the 31... More

This is a quintessential old French historic property that is very charming. The gardens and grounds with huge magnificent trees are wonderful. The service is outstanding, the staff speaks good english, the food excellent, especially the trout! And I tried rabbit for the first time because it smelled so good in the dining room and it was good, the sauce... More

The location, by the river and near the old abbey, was excellent. There was a very convenient restaurant there as well, and plenty of space to park the car. However, for the price of 65 euros a night for a double room - or 85 if you want to have breakfast - we stayed in much better accommodations in France.... More

We took a tour group to sw France, and Madame Yolande and her staff at L'Eveche were wonderful. We threw her several curves--last minute dinners, extended stays, etc.--and she handled all with efficiency and grace. Wasn't our first visit to L'Eveche, and it won't be our last.
