We stayed for a couple of nights in February and were welcomed by the owners Wayne and Sandy . We had booked our room number 4 after looking at other reviews on Trip advisor and were very pleased with arrangement .Our private little terrace had spectacular views onto the Atlantic. This is the only shower I have come across in... More

Paternoster was a small fishing village, but it is now a rather unappealing sprawl of holiday homes, albeit situated on 2 lovely sandy bays, and to get there from Cape Town you have cross 150km of hot flat scrubland. We were disappointed in Paternoster – perhaps the flower season is a better time to go? The Columbine nature Reserve round... More

We stayed for two nights at the Oystercatcher's Haven in Paternoster, and decided that this was the nicest room we had had in South Africa - and we had had some lovely ones. Bright, spacious and comfortable with wonderful sea views and, in our case, a private terrace. The host, Wayne, was extremely helpful with dinner recommendations and general info... More

After a very busy December myself and my husband were in desperate need of a holiday. Somewhere to restore the body and mind. Views of the ocean from our bed, hearty breakfasts, evening turn downs and our attentive host Wayne who helped us with restaurant bookings are but a few of the reasons why we would return to this gem!... When looking for a getaway you can not do better than this little haven. It really is stunning- a little piece of heaven. A few metres from the beach, literally! We had breakfast on our little stoep "patio" overlooking the beach. The service was superb and personal. Wayne and sandy had time for a little chat. They were also great... More

We stayed at Oystercatcher Haven for 5 nights on our latest trip to South Africa. Anja, Wayne, Sandy and Claudia have fine tuned this operation to provide a very relaxing location. Fabulous location with amazing views onto the beach - so close to the sea that initially it was almost too noisy until we acclimatised - but we certainly did.... More

Paternoster is very unique and you should visit if you are in the area. The place with the most B&B's in a very small area, but still very peaceful. The view from the B&B is beautiful. You look out over the ocean/beach from your room and about everywhere in the hotel. Don't expect a pool to swim in. Very small... More

This place, a typical example of South African seaside chic (ie expensively rustic), is in a great location, and makes a lovely romantic break - if you can afford it. The sea, as everyone notes, is right outside your window, and (when the sun comes out), the waves are just mesmerising to watch. You can walk straight out on to... More

We spent 4 nights here at the end of a 6 week tour of South Africa, and could not have had a more relaxing time. The house itself is in a stunning position overlooking the ocean, with a wide sandy beach a few steps down the dunes from the house ,We stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor, and... More

An easy drive from Capetown stopping at great farmstalls on the way, Paternoster is a treat for the senses. Whitewashed cottages, no ugly advertising or development, peaceful clean beaches, a nature drive nearby, great food at several restaurants, and the lovely Oystercatchers Haven B&B. When the wind blows, stay inside and be cool (or warm in winter), enjoy the well... More
