Everything was very good.We stayed in the Vanilla room -right on the dunes, wonderful.Breakfasts were tasty and generous-but get down early if you want the window seats! Overall quiet and relaxing but advice is always on hand if you need it.

Paternoster is a beautiful place - a fishing village caught up in the past with breathtaking vistas of sky and sea. It has been blessed with some lovely guest houses and restaurants. We paid a second visit there a few weeks ago and were fortunate to reserve accommodation at the Dunes which had been highly recommended to us. We had... More

We stayed in the Rose Room for our 10 year anniversary weekend, and loved every minute. Room had everything we needed and small extras which made a difference-coffee machine in the room, tea cups and extra plates, hand held mirror, large hairdryer, DVD player with USB etc as well as everything else you'd expect at a four star place. In terms of Paternoster accommodation, The Dunes rates amongst the best. It lives up to its name as a boutique guest house. The common areas are well coordinated with an open air, central courtyard pool which is warm and out of the wind. Upstairs there is another open area which comprises a lounge and fireplace and also a self-service bar... More

We returned again to The Dunes this year and managed a three night visit. A party of four we stayed in Aqua and Vanilla, adjacent ocean rooms which were great. This year we also stayed on an evening Dinner was offered at the Dunes. Crayfish on the menu, and I doubt I have ever seen such an offering of wonderfully... More

We had an excellent stay in the Rose Room. The room had a very nice view on the dunes and ocean. Breakfast was excellent, also the view ;-). The two owners had arranged dinner reservations at The Noisy Oyster and Gaatsjie for us in advance, which we highly appreciated. For a good lunch we would recommend The Square Spoon as... More

Excellent food with spectacular view, friendly staff and owner. The Suite room was very spacious, comfortable with beautiful decor. Wonderful sea views from the rooms and the Breakfast room/Bar area. Cant wait to go back.

The view, the food, the attention to detail, the pre-booking of local restaurants, the comfort, the perfect host (Gavin), the décor, the weather, the staff, the beach, the atmosphere - it really has it all. We enjoyed a fabulous 3 day get-away-from-it-all stay here from 5th January before returning to more visiting, eating and drinking in Capetown. The Dunes is... More

Our second stay at Paternoster Dunes was just as good as the first one two years ago. The vanilla suite is huge, with direct access to the beach and the view is beautiful - the best thing is falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Gavin's breakfasts always include a 'special of the day' and his lovely, gentle manner... More

We know paternoster already for several years and wanted to start our 'end of year' holiday again in this very nice place, this time we booked 2 nights in Dunes boutique guesthouse (we stayed in the dune ridge cottage, which is just in front of our favorite beach in Paternoster). We arrived around 12.30 after a long flight and had... More

Dear Yvakat Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are pleased you enjoyed the overall experience with us. Your early check-in was arranged with Keathlen and I so when Deon answered the door he was not aware of the arrangements ... luckily it was sorted out quickly. I'm glad you enjoyed the accommodation but very disappointed... More
