My Father and I stayed here, again, at the beginning of the month and yet again Barbara excelled. As always, her hospitality was warm and all encompassing, even to 'remembering' which milk and bread we like. (I know she keeps copious notes but it is still very welcoming.) Thank you again Barbara and crew, we look forward to staying again soon,... More

Just got back from our second visit to Barbara and Co. Only a year has passed, but I'd forgotten the amazing attention to detail and the feeling of being completely spoilt. Nothing is too much trouble. This year we were lucky enough to see a tawny owl and that really was the icing on the cake! Thank you all for... More

I received a warm welcome after travelling down a slightly bumpy lane (1.1 miles), ideal for seeing wildlife as it is on the banks of the River Witham. A fantastic breakfast to set you up for the day.

It always makes me smile when I read the experiences of others as they recount the drive to Kirkstead Old Mill Cottage!! Yes, it is up a beaten track, but that adds to the character of one's stay (just drive slowly and carefully)! Always a great welcome from Barbara and it is always great to see her! This time we... To say we were having second thoughts about our choice of place to stay would have been an understatement as we approached it, following directions given we turned from the main road onto a very bumpy and quite narrow track running beside fields and dykes. Our driver was concerned about our rather aged car. - But once we arrived at... More

From the moment you enter the door you are assured of a warm welcome from Barbara. We stayed in the balcony room, and I can honestly say we enjoyed the best night nights sleep in a long time. so quiet, and Reg's breakfast set you up for the day. If you like wildlife, as we do, we saw Deer, Heron,... More

Thank you, Barbara, for finding time to write about how much you enjoyed staying in Kirkstead Old Mill Cottage. I do hope you are able to come here again, and perhaps you will be able to add the Barn Owl and Kingfisher to your list of wild life sightings. I look forward to welcoming back, Barbara. More

This was our first visit, but definitely won't be our last. Unfortunately, words can't really describe this little oasis. You will need to experience it yourself. Nothing is too much trouble and the accommodation is fantastic. It is also a wildlife haven and so very peaceful. Make sure you have room for the amazing breakfast!!

This place is fantanstic, the welcome is friendly and you are immediately made to feel at home. The room have really comfortable beds and the en-suite to the Monet has the best spa bath/ shower. The breakfasts are out of this world - the only instruction is, if you order it you must eat it! And the taste of the... More

This was our 4th visit to Kirkstead Old MIll Cottagbe and once again we were warmly welcomed and treated like Royalty. Barbara really knows how to spoil her guests and once again the breakfasts were superb and served with some great banter by Reg!! Saturday morning we breakfasted to the sound of the Lancaster at the nearby Battle of Britain... More

Whilst further from Woodhall Spa than I would have liked (about 10 minutes by car into the village), the welcome I received from Barbara more than compensated for the distance. The Monet Bedroom was very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and your own personal fridge!). My bedroom also had a spacious ensuite bathroom (with a great shower I... More

Thank you, Lee, for adding to our Trip Advisor reviews. The farm track is 1.1 miles long, so we only welcome guests when it is in a reasonable condition, and travelling down it carefully often allows one to view some of the abundant wild life. The latest visitor is an egret who fishes in the beck. A lot of our... More
