Having pre-booked my stay at the hotel, the staff were most helpful upon arrival. Checking in and out was a formality swiftly accomplished at both ends. The hotel is set in a park that is dedicated to rose trees and bushes (strangely enough !). It must be a wonderful setting later in the year when these are in bloom. There is also a vast collection of golf balls in cabinets dotted along the walls of the corridors. The hotel claims there are four courses nearby.
The room however left a little bit to be desired as it was rather small. That said it was comfortable and clean with no hidden surprises lurking anywhere.
The restaurant is probably the best thing about the town, never mind the hotel ! An excellent meal and a helpful, attentive waitress makes that little bit of difference after a long day traveling. It was the middle of May when I visited, and warm enough for several other guests to be eating outside on the patio overlooking the lake. I would certainly return.
