The Ahr valley, with it's steeply declinig hills on which - among the world's best - Pinot Noir (Frühburgunder/Spätburgunder) wines are made, is probably underestimated by many. The surroundings are impressive, the villages are lovely, and Country Hotel Lochmühle is amidst of it. Many rooms have a view on the river (which is the best, and can be enjoyed from... More

An hours drive from Bonn and/or Cologne, this hotel nestled in the red wine valley of Germany is worth a look-see. Rooms are not modern, traditional and yet well maintained... serene. Outside you have the Ahr river and a scenic view of the grape valley. Restaurant serves game and excellent vegetables. Try the pumpkin soup.. BTW.. internet is sporadic, enough... More

We had a Bongobox and booked this hotel because we wanted to have a wellness/romantic weekend and this hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, solarium, salinarium and wellness with a lot of massages. We booked and therefore paid (Bongo is a kind of giftbox: you enter your login&password and can choose a stay in certain hotels, depending on the money... More

Stayed for 3 nights in May and enjoyed the time there. The staff were great, especially Alexander in the bar who was always on top form. He in fact made the stay with his lovely hospitality. The hotel surroundings are very beautiful and quiet. I stayed in a standard room and the bed was not the most comfortable I have... More

Stayed here just for one night passing by. We had a small but efficient and clean room with a beautifull river view and a small balcony with two chairs. The food in the restaurant in the annexe is excellent and they served a great local Spaetburgunder Ahr-wine. It is quite a big hotel, one experiences this in the huge, bit... More

The staff is friendly, but the room we had was old. Especially the bathroom (for instance mold). The wellness-area: I left as soon as I could. And breakfast: they don't serve really fresh bread, it's bread that they bake off in their own oven and that's also sold in supermarkets around Germany. When I pay more then 100 euro, the... More

Rooms 400 and 401 are a shame. They are extremely cold as the heater does not work properly. It was simply impossible to sleep. They are extremely small comparend to the other rooms. They are allocated to customers who have a voucher and do not pay enough to get the standard room. The hotel reception does not offer any compensation... More

The Hotel Lochmuele was one of the best hotels we stayed in during an 8 day tour of Germany. It is a lovely hotel in a quiet, peaceful valley, surrounded by vineyards and with rooms looking down over the river. It has a lovely ambiance with large comfortable rooms and a beautiful outside terrace. All staff were friendly and welcoming.... More

Our room was just an ordinary one, large but not very clean. There were plenty of dead insects (mosquitos and moths) near the window which could have been cleaned up with a vacuum. Not a big problem, though, cause window is on the grass, not on a city street. Apart from that, hotel staff is nice, view is amazing, location... More
