Cherasco is a friendly little town perched at the top of a mountain that you must take a winding road up to reach. The Hotel Somachi is in a portion of a converted monastery that sits at the edge of the small town overlooking a valley. We upgraded to a suite and were pleasantly surprised that in addition to a... Sadly we had only booked in for one night here. That was a mistake which we hope to rectify very soon. Reception was very friendly and helpful. (A slight inconvenience is that on arrival there is only a tiny brass plate to show that this is indeed the hotel, and it is not clear whether one can park in the... More

Hotel Somaschi, in Cherasco, is about 45 minutes from Torino and a short drive from the A6 motorway. It's easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Even though it's not in a garage - the town seems very safe. The hotel is in what once was an old monastery from the 16th century and very unique. The exterior... More

We stayed overnight at Somaschi Hotel. It was a great experience. that evening there was a big wedding going on in one of their large ballrooms. A bit noisy in the corridor, but inside the bedroom across the corridor it was quiet. Thanks to thick walls I suppose. You feel you are in a different world in this hotel. It... More

A lovely hotel with a beautiful setting on top of a hill, extremely helpful staff and very well appointed rooms. We stayed her for a night in the suite and it was exceptionally comfortable. Looking at all of these positives, I struggle to understand why this would be only a 4-Star hotel and not a 5-star. The desk staff and... More

I cannot say enough positive about the staff at this hotel: friendly, very helpful, going the extra mile for restaurant suggestions, spa arrangements, golf reservations... The desk personnel really deserve a gold star! The overall feel of the monastery transformed into a hotel is serene, calm and rather peaceful. The lobby space is charming and cozy enough to invite you... More

We took a ground floor room with an upstairs bedroom, it was luxuriously comfortable and spacious. Very quiet. The staff were most helpful, breakfast was the best yet, I wanted bacon and eggs and they cooked it for me ! Highly recommended.

I am really sitting on the fence about this place. It's a renovated monastery, so the buildings are beautiful. But the building are not just a hotel - there are private apartments, offices, doctor's practices….. all in the one complex so you don't really feel like you're in a hotel. The hotel is located on the outskirts of cherasco, there... More

we stayed one night and slept very comfortably and quiet, breakfast was really good and manifold; was served in the beautiful brick-cellar of the hotel, so unfortunatley no sunlight to greet that beautiful day. dining at this hotel-restaurant really has to be recommended. there is carpet in the whole hotel)rooms and corridor), which we don't prefer, but it fits to... Somaschi is very nice hotel, impressive entrance with garden, main door through out arches of this ancient building. At first look rooms are also very nice. unfortunatelly when you spend some time in there you notice the unfortunate list of items which should never happen in such hotel category: paper toilette holder broken and missing, main door elettronic key lock...
