We just needed a quick getaway close by so drove north to Topanga for a weekend of hiking and relaxing. Wanted to stay near the State Park and this was the place. Initially we had booked the Nick and Nora room or something like that but about two weeks before the trip I looked closer and questioned whether we had... More

When I originally designed and built the two buildings that comprise the Topanga Canyon Inn, they were intended to be either a full house residential rental or, in some rare cases, an upstairs/downstairs duplex. There was never a thought of a B&B. But we were lucky in that I believe that each bedroom should have it's own bathroom so we... More

We recently stayed at this B&B to end our trip in a more natural area in LA after staying in the city. Topanga Canyon is an interesting and pretty little town that is close to the gorgeous Malibu beaches, and this B&B enables fairly easy travel to these as well as local Canyon attractions. It was easy to make a... More

We try to stay out of our guests way and usually only interact with them at breakfast, checking in and out or when they contact us. It's their vacation time and we don't want to intrude. The days that these folks were staying at our Inn were my wife, Elena's, days to cook. She was especially busy in the kitchen... More

We stayed here on a whim because we were going to the annual Rose Parade and the hotels were all booked up or way too expensive around Pasadena. We really enjoyed it because it was so removed from hecticness of daily life. We took a great hike by walking up the street and finding trailhead for Topanga Canyon Park. The... More

Stayed in Rhett and Scarlett room. Way overpriced at $300+/night. The bed is stiff and has no mattress pad, just two flat sheets. There is a dated jacuzzi tub but no shower - just a cheap handheld shower nozzle. You cannot take a shower and there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom, so you will hear every little... We stayed in the Rhett and Scarlett room on our trip up the coast of California for our honeymoon. The view was beautiful and the attached bathroom was huge with a very nice Jacuzzi tub. There was lots of space in the bedroom and my wife really enjoyed the fireplace. We didn't make much use out of the common areas... More

My brother (who lives in the canyon) booked me a stay at this B&B as a treat while I was in town visiting with him. It was extremely clean, the staff was adequate although they were almost like ghosts - I didn't see them often but the place was spotless and very well kept. I had no issues with sound.... More

I have left this review until the last of our holiday (17 others filed) because it is the most difficult to write. The location is very beautiful and the family very friendly but that's as good as it gets. We booked for 4 nights as we wanted to use the location as a base for exploring Los Angeles without being... It's a B&B and, yes, some people don't get it. We wish the neighbors would corral their trash cans into a more orderly state, but it just isn't going to happen, so we have given up trying to make the approach to our Inn like some picturesque village in the English countryside. The trash cans do stop about 50 yards... More

Great service, great food, great people, but please add more lighting to the Silvia and Ramon room. It was too dark and since there was no view, we couldn't use the sunshine to brighten our room to read. Breakfast was generous and delicious ! The hiking paths just outside the B&B were easy to find and challenging, so make sure... More

We recently installed LED track lighting to bounce light off of the artworks on the walls which gives the guests more lighting options for their individual preferences. More

I start all my bed and breakfast reviews the same way: B&Bs are just as individual as the people who visit them. All are beautiful in their own way and also have their own peculiarities. These differences are what make those of us who enjoy B&Bs keep going to on to the next new adventure. The Topanga Canyon Inn B&B... More
