We stayed early August for a multi generational holiday with my wife and I and our two small children (both under 6) + my Mum and husband. They have stayed at the site before and had been praising it up to us for a couple of years. We stayed in the gite "Heron" and they brought their caravan. I found... More

My Husband, Son and I have just arrived home from holidaying at Le Chant d'Oiseau, in our lovely gîte (Héron). To the run up to our holiday, I had been e-mailing Stu & Syb, so upon our arrival I felt as though I already knew them, which was lovely. We were shown around the site, our gîte and garden. It... This is our third visit to Le Chant d' Oiseau, we have always found the owners Stu & Syb very friendly, accommodating and approachable. The pitches are a very good size, clean and well kept, we had enough room for a large 6 berth tent and a smaller 3 berth tent on the pitch, leaving enough room to park the... More

I have just spent 3 fabulous weeks here, one in the gite, Heron, and the other two in my caravan on the campsite. Everything, and I do mean everything, was top class.Stu and Syb, the owners, add lots of personal little touches to make this the best campsite in France.I was on the site at the same time as the... This is a lovely campsite, and the owners are really friendly and helpful, it's in a nice area too. The gites (don't know if that is the right spelling lol) are great, we have stayed in them a few times. Also the owners Stu and Sybs have worked hard and done a lot of improvements outside, its looks amazing what... More

We've recently returned from our 7th visit to Le Chant and I thought that it couldn't get any better than it was last year but I was wrong. The new barn is a beautiful social space that nearly all the visitors enjoyed while we were there. We spent many evenings enjoying Syb's cooking or the pizzas and fouee that Stu... More

I totally agree with the the review left by Tracy last August! I don't really believe it should feature in the cool camping website because its not! We have stayed in many cool camping sites in France and throughout the UK and this did not live up to its expectations. Agreed the review by cool camping is pretty much true... More

Exactly the sort of site we were looking for; warm and friendly hosts, small but great facilities, great hosts with a sense of community, we really couldn't recommend it highly enough if you don't want all the trappings of a big site. We will be back! P.s. take a visit to Saumur to the Veuve Amiot Wine tour, its fantastic!

We received a very warm welcome from Stu & Syb after we booked a pitch for a night last minute while on the road as part of our campervan tour of france. They had just had a deluge of rain so only part of the site was useable, but they managed to squeeze us on and we had a great... More

Campsites mean different things to different people and it all depends on what you value as to how you find a particular site. We value nice people, fun and beauty and we found all three at Le Chant, with a wonderful welcome and a cup of tea! The size of the site makes it easy to meet and talk with... More
