Rarotonga is amazingly beautiful. Me and my partner were absolutely captivated by it. What made it so much more fantastic was Makayla Palms. From the moment we arrived John and Rachel were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. :-) The villas are in the best location, a mere 30 secs from the best beach on the Island and tropical fish were... What a find, very private and peaceful studio unit, so clean & tidy. Didnt want for anything. Fresh fruit, pick your own passionfruit, deeeelicious. Bread etc all there for breakfast supplied. And a real treat, delicious home made baking. Beautiful scones. We really enjoyed the unit being self contained, we could sleep in & not be disturbed. Good quality snorkel... More

John and Racheal a couple to remember from a great greeting on arrival at 730pm to the our departure at 0100hrs 10 days later, just like saying good by to family. Those wonderful scones and advice on things the island has to offer ,we enjoyed the Rarotongan night at the Highland Paradise Marae amongst other suggested activities . Accommodation was... More

Rarotonga is paradise in the South Pacific, and Makayla Palms is truly a rare jewel! Makayla Palms is a special haven where Rachel and John are devoted to creating a special place for their guests to escape the busy world and relax into 'Island Time'. We had an amazing week staying in Studio One which is a modern and well... More

The Makayla is very special. John and Rachel, the owners, provide top quality accommodation and make you feel like you are coming home. Great garden, great kitchen, and your own short path to the beach. The snorkeling at the beach right outside was the best coral we found on Rarotonga and the Makayla has all the gear, along with kayaks... More

What a wonderful find in Makayla palms! After a lot of research we decided to stay at Makayla and we were thrilled with the results! The property is extremely charming and immaculately kept. The beach is a 30 second walk and absolutely gorgeous! If we saw 5 people it was considered very busy! Most of the time it was like... More

We had the best stay at Makayla Palms - it's modern, tastefully decorated, quiet, and private. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa which was very spacious and in a beautiful garden setting. Activities-wise, kayaks, reef shoes, snorkels and masks were provided, as were beach towels! For the not-so-good weather days there is a great collection of DVD's, books, magazines,... More

We just returned home from our second holiday in Rarotonga and I’m really glad we chose to stay at Makayla Palms for two main reasons. Area In my view, Titikaveka is the best area in the Island. The beach is great … you don’t see many people, even at the peak of tourist season. The downside is accommodation is more... More

Wow..... spent ages on TA researching where to stay on Raro before we decided on Makayla Palms. From the first email I received from Rachel I knew we'd made the right choice :o) She couldn't have been more helpful while we were still in NZ..... Rachel's customer service is superb, made all the better by the fact that it's obviously... More
