We honeymooned at Makayla palms and had a great time. The beach was beautiful & secluded (and only 30 seconds away), the house was well stocked and comfortable, reef shoes and snorkel gear were provided, there was fresh fruit upon arrival and in the garden and delicious baking was given on 3 days out of 5. John and Rachel did... More

This was the second time we had stayed in Rarotonga. We knew the best area of the island to stay and found this awesome looking place Makayla Palms on the internet. We made enquiries and eventually booked our accommodation staying in the villa. Rachel and John are the most wonderful hosts – nothing was too much trouble. Email correspondence making... More

We just got back from one of the best holidays we have ever had I was left wondering why we have travelled all over the world when this idillic spot is so close to us here in NZ - we were sooooo lucky to chose Makayla Palms. I was a bit concerned arriving right at Easter that it might be... More

We stayed at Makalya Palms for 4 nights in the villa, and I would highly recomend to anyone. The villas are very modern equiped with pretty much everything you need for a self contained holiday. They are extremley clean and well kept. Rachel and John are great hosts and helped us with any information about the island we could need... More

Every previous review regarding the fantastic hospitality of John and Rachel at Makayla Palms is spot on. They could not have been more helpful and kind and made our stay even more delightful than it already was. We however, would like to highlight another piece of the wonderful team at Makayla Palms. Island locals Fred and Loving, and their adorable... More

Makayla Palms was a great start of our trip to the Cook islands. We only met John, but he was the greatest host, picking us up from the airport and answering all the questions we had. The studio was very spacious, with many details. There was even home-baking from Rachel in the fridge! We especially liked the personal touch in... More

Wow! - What an amazing place Makayla Palms was to stay at! John and Rachel were absolutly amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. They totally went out of their way for us to make our visit as good as possible. We unfortunatly had to make a visit to the Dr while we were there and Rachel picked us up, taking... More

This was our second stay at Makayla Palms and we enjoyed our first stay so much that we chose it as the base for our wedding in February. Rachel's hospitality began long before we arrived - the help she gave me in making the wedding arrangements was invaluable! I couldn't have done it without her! I'll never forget the few... More

We stayed for a week, refugees from the frozen Canadian prairies. The welcome was as warm as the weather; from Rachel's pick-up at the airport complete with eis, to the surprise home baking every day, to John's information on local attractions and services, to the offer of a vehicle to get to a dinner reservation, our hosts thought of everything.... Thanks to tripadvisor i found this perfect spot on Rarotonga to spent four days in Dec.09 before travelling on to aitutaki. and it spoiled me so much that i was not so happy on "perfect" aitutaki. The Appartment was very comfortabel, well equipped and spacious with a big veranda and lovely garden. Rachel planted many different fruits and herbs all... More
