Got picked from the airport. The hotel didn't seem much from the outside. If you are looking for glamour, this is not the place. This place is perfect if you are looking for a little slice of paradise, on the beach, with a front desk that will bend over backwards to make sure you have the best stay possible. We... More

This was my second visit to Rarotonga. On our first visit we stayed at a larger resort and so this time I opted for a smaller place mainly for wanting accommodation with less people. We were warmly greeted by Jay Jay at the airport and were given a lovely lei. When checking in I asked the girl at reception if... More

We stayed at the Moana Sands for our friends wedding. It was perfect for that with friends coming from all around the world. We stayed in a suite on the third floor. It was very spacious however the shower was terrible as it went really hot and then freezing cold. When speaking to our other friends they all had the... More

We found Moana Sands a very friendly and happy place to stay. The staff were always helpful if you had any inquiries and even though our stay was only five nights you felt like you were all old friends. We found the meals very good in the Restaurant and never felt the need to go elsewhere if we were at... More

We stayed at this hotel for the beginning for our honeymoon. We had a beach front room at the hotel, we had airport transfers and were provided with a flower lei on arrival. Check In was smooth considering we were on the red eye flight arriving at 1.30am. The room had a double bed, microwave, air conditioning and shower in... More

My husband and I have just returned from getting married in Rarotonga and all our family and friends stayed with us at the Moana Sands Hotel. I really can't say enough about this hotel. The rooms were lovely (having recently been refurbished), it is ABSOLUTE beachfront, the staff were fantastic; nothing was ever too much trouble, it is on the... More

The hotel is right on the beachfront with excellent coral reefs for snorkelling. Clean rooms, good facilities with a direct view of the sea. We were initially put in a room which had a broken air conditioning unit so this probably was not checked beforehand. However, after informing them the next day we were upgraded to a far superior room... More

The villas are spacious, very comfortable and clean The location on the beach is stunning,my only complaint being the office is not manned throughout the day and seems to have someone there only... We stayed here with a relative for 7 nights recently. The villas are very clean and attractive. We stayed in a ground floor villa which gave easy access via a couple of stairs to the beach. There were many fish to look at and it was a great place to snorkel without having to go to deeper waters. You could... More

En route from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to New Zealand, my husband and I decided to break the long trans-Pacific trip with a stop in the Cook Islands, taking advantage of Air New Zealand's weekly (Sunday) nonstop from Los Angeles. The clerk at the LAX duty-free shop told us that he'd heard that the Cook Islands were "like Hawaii in 1930"!... More
