Danielle and the crew are awesome. They even took the time to help find us a place to stay when they were booked up solid. They went above and beyond to see that we were looked after. I highly recommend the Angel Inn.

We were in Corbridge filling up with fuel when we saw this lovely Inn. People were sitting outside in the sun on a rare sunny day. We were in the area staying at Slaley Hall and had been visiting Derwent Reservoir and various other places of interest. We had a drink and decided to stay for a meal. The bar... More

This place has a great feel to it and on the Saturday night we visited it was lively and vibrant. We chose to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant because we were enjoying the buzz of the place. We were disappointed overall with our food experience - we felt it was expensive ( £200 for 4 of us... More

I visited the Angel on Saturday evening 20/04/13 and sat in the new, beautifully refurbished restaurant. The food was tasty and the 2 waitresses delivered without a fuss and kept on top of everything in a relaxed and calm manner. The restaurant was full of all ages, from a 5 year old eating mussels to elderly couples enjoying the relaxed... More

Nice impressive looking building. Nicely appointed rooms but that's it I'm afraid. Ludicrously overpriced for lukewarm water in the bathroom and the tea and coffee sachets weren't replenished. The chef can't poach an egg without it being hard, the toast and drinks take an age and no-one bothers to ask if you want any more of either. The breakfast is... More

Ate here last year and didn't rate the place, but some friends were really wanting to prove us wrong. To be honest nothing had changed, and we were really trying hard not to be too critical because of our friends, but in the end even they had to concede that the place was poor. Food overpriced and under tasting. We... More

We ate here Monday 15.4.13 - got a table in the main bar area - there were a few people in but not excessively busy. Got a large white wine & half a pint of cider £9.30 - we were staying in a Devere Hotel just a few miles away and the drinks were cheaper there! Ordered the black pudding... More

We stayed at The Angel as we were meeting up with friends & didn't fancy driving home afterwards. Our room was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The bar downstairs was buzzing, mostly with locals. We ate elsewhere, so can't comment on the food, but there appeared to be plenty of happy diners. Breakfast next morning was really nice. I'd definitely... More

I stayed in 'The Angel Inn' which is located in the beautiful little village of Corbridge, Northumberland. This small hotel was superb. The rooms are very indivdual and although they seemed recently decorated etc.they continue to hold an element of old world charm. The Angel has so much character and charm. l

I stay at the Angel more than a handful of times a year as I have relatives not far from Corbridge. After hearing all the hype about Tripadvisor I looked up a few places I'd been as was thoroughly shocked to find so many poor reports on this place. I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience here,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Angel Inn is a beautiful traditional inn offering great local British food with warm and comfortable rooms. The Angel Inn has a bar offering local ales, a lounge with a real fire, a modern martini and wine bar and a restaurant. Corbridge is a pretty village, once a market town, that lies four miles east of Hexham on the banks of the River Tyne. Today it has a reputation for excellent shopping with various fashion boutiques lining the main shopping street. Our Bar, The ‘hub’ of what we do here at the Angel: a great Northumbrian breakfast, an extensive ‘all day’ menu offering great British food sourced from Northumbrian produce, great local ales, a superb wine list and exceptional service in friendly and safe surroundings. We do not offer food after 5pm on a Sunday, but we are more than happy to recommend a local restaurant. Our Lounge: A great place to relax with friends or a book. Comfortable leather seats, real fire, newspapers, great coffees, afternoon teas, glass of wine, choice of whisky or just a place to warm up after a long walk. Our Restaurant: Our restaurant is both elegant and spacious – sporting a characterful pitched roof with exposed oak beams. A superb venue for dining, which seats up to eighty guests comfortably for private parties, Christmas lunches and dinners or weddings. Our Martini Bar: The bar is the height of sophistication, bringing the legendary Newcastle lifestyle and glamour to your front door. With a contemporary and sleek design it is very easy to settle in and relax surrounded my velvet delights and sumptuous shades of purple. Our Martini bar tenders are highly trained and passionate about their creations and the ingredients they use. We have spirits you couldn’t even dream of ranging from Bubblegum infused Vodka to Honey Liqueur. Choose from out Martini Collections; Modern Classics, Fruit Martinis, Vintage Classics, Something Different, Dessert Martinis & Champagne Cocktails. ... more   less
