Called in for lunch. Menu isn't huge, but everyone of us were both delighted, and surprised by the quality of the food. Including the veggie amongst us who said the super food lasagna was 'fabulous', and the best she'd ever tasted. As an added bonus its doggie friendly, and the staff couldn't do enough to make our visit enjoyable. Would... More

Found the Golden Lion last year on a bank holiday in Corbridge. My friend and I had lunch there and were really impressed.......Good food and service. We went back there yesterday....( Saturday 02/05/2015 ) to find it under new ownership. We thought it good before, now even better. The food is cooked straight from order, no more microwaved peas etc,... More

Popped in for lunch while on a Northumberland Tourism Ambassadors course and was extremely impressed. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Can thoroughly recommend this pub to visitors to Corbridge and surrounding areas.

Wanted a nice dog friendly pub for some lunch and ended up here. The interior is a bit dark but we were told the pub had been taken over and was to be renovated. Our barman was such a friendly chap.Pleasant and very welcoming which goes a long way. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the beer garden at the... More

Have been trying Corbridge out for somewhere to eat and drink lately and thought we had found a good local pub until it's gone down hill. Bar staff not knowing what a double vodka and coke is and also not knowing what wine they sell to then cross contaminating drinks. We went back tonight to give it one last have... More

We called in here on Saturday night prior to going out for a meal and the place was dead. You would never think you were in a lovely village like Corbridge when you are sitting in this pub. Not sure if I would go back, far too quiet and no atmosphere whatsoever.

large historic stone built pub, let down by the interior which is like a weatherspoons. Despite that there is a decent selection of drinks including continental lagers. We went on Saturday evening when the pub was clearly gearing up for the evening, strangely a smell of dirty chip fat lingered around the seating area near to the kitchens.

From the moment you arrive and the barstaff try to avoid your gaze as you have luggage this was not going to go well. We knew it was a room above a pub and didn't expect too much. The rooms were of good size and were ok although I think having 19 drawers in a room is excessive! The decor... More
