We spent two nights here as part of a tour group. Food was average and staff friendly, but service was erratic. Room was clean but bathroom vented into corridor so noise travelled. Layout is quirky but charming.

Orient Hotel is a large hotel, with a lot of Asian people in it (ironic). The food wasn't that great and there was not a lot of choice. There were flies on the salad and the shrimps were not even warm. The room doesn't have AC and the fan was broken. The bathroom is ok, but there was dirty stuff... More

Service is terrible, they don't even bother to pour a glass of water, or refilling. I had to wait for 10 minutes to get a glass of water. also the tables are not clean, staff doesn't bother to clean up the tables. leftovers are kept their for a long time. food quality is reasonable. bartender's attitude is very bad.

Very friendly staff and the suite we stayed was spacious and clean. But the jacuzi was not working. They offered with tasty food and the restaurant staffs were very efficient and helpfull.Overall our impression was good and we enjoyed... More

Pleasant hotel, no frills, interesting stuff on offer in the restaurant. a bit noisy in the morning, but it is in a bustling little town! Good view of the town. Room was Ok but could hear conversations/ noise from nearby rooms.

The hotel layout is a bit weird. You have to take all sorts of twists and turns to get to the rooms, restaurant and bar. The room was spacious but did not have a mini fridge. There was no air conditioning but the fan was sufficient and it was reasonably quiet. The food was high quality and eggs were cooked... More

Minus: 1. No atmosphere in the hotel. 2. Dark bar on the ground floor with an ancient music, not very inviting. 3. Relatively expensive for drinks. 4. Located in the mountains, but you do not really get the impression that you are in the mountains. 5. Mosque is nearby, might wake you up early in the morning around 5. Positive:... More

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time in Sri Lanka! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, our names were mentioned on the board and we were upgraded to the Paradise Suite. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special... More

We stayed here as part of an Exodus tour of Sri Lanka and liked this hotel. Our room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the mosque. The evening buffet was one of the best we had during our tour.

It’s a great place to stay.... Staff were friendly caring and pleasant, starting from the reception. Meals are very good and delicious... Rooms are warm while outside is very cool. Well maintained hospital. I highly recommend the hotel for locals and foreigners. I would probably choose Orient hotel next time as I have experience warm welcomes of the staff, excellent... More
