We were travelling around with a group of Volkswagen enthusiasts and stayed for a night at the Fauna Park. You must stay as a guest to get involved with the animals. Accomodation is basic but o.k. The owners are great people. Checking out and feeding all the saved animals was a real treat. It would not be very interesting if... More

Thanks for your personal attitude, understanding and help in every respect (laundry etc). You took a lot of effort and time to teach us new things about the Australian fauna and we could even give a milk bottle to Vilma - the wombat baby. Sehr empfehlenswert um australische Tiere, auch solche, die man nicht oder nur schwer in freier Wildbahn... More

I took my mum here while she was on her first visit to Australia as I though it would be a good place for her to experience native Australian animals and we were not disappointed. The accommodation was basic but cosy, comfortable and warm although that is not why we stayed here. It was all about the animals. We were... More

This is a great family-run down to earth experience. Initially I was unsure when we arrived - but the whole place seriously grew on me. The kids had a wonderful time and chatting with Kirsten & Dean was equally as great. They know so much about the animals and were genuinely interested in the well being of their animals. The... More

We went there hoping to catch the glow worms at Melba Gully, a five minute drive away. The retreat is very well located for this purpose. The four of us were happily roomed in the Wombat Cottage which is small but sufficient and also warm with the heater on in the winter. The cottage has a well equipped kitchenette and... More

I wish I had time for a long review, but this is just a note to say that my wife and I loved staying at this retreat. We stayed in Wombat cottage for 2 nights, and felt it was very nice, and good value for money. Being able to walk around (or sneak around at night) feeding carrots to the... More

You know, this may not be for everyone, but it was for me. Hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The wombat cottage was really beyond what I had expected- a great tub, a washer and dryer, bedrooom, full kitchen and two twin beds off of the living area. Upon check in there was a little... More

With two sets of international visitors and our boys aged 5 and 8 we thought this would be a great place to set up base while we toured the Great Ocean Road and Otway National Park - we weren't disappointed! We didn't arrive until 10pm which made for a great welcome with all the nocturnal animals on full alert and... More

My dad and i decided to go there for 2 days but stayed for 4 days. We had the Koala suite and we found it very comfortable and clean. The animals were amazing and seeing dad feeding the emus was so funny. I loved patting the Koals and wandering around the birds aand other animals. This may not be for... More

This place can be reviewed very differently by different people. You need to read the other reviews to know what you're getting yourslef into. It basic lodging, almost like a camping lodge or trailer. You have to be ok with bugs and a little uncleanliness. But for something different this place is great. I went with a group of 7... More
