Ones again I visited Alagna and stayed at the cosy Hotel Monterosa. I stayed in September last year as well as in March and there has been some very nice and positive changes in the hotel. The rooms has been refurnished and are very tasteful and cosy. They have also made the wonderful (large) dining room into two parts –... More

The Monterosa Hotel in Alagna is a wonderful place with great atmosphere. After a 10 day hike we arrived wet, cold and dirty, what a welcome reception we got. The Swedish owners started recently and a personal touch is clearly present. The interior design is a wonderful mixture of old and modern. Rooms are decent size, although you may find... More

If you are going to Alagna in the Italian alps do stay here! This hotel is all you need; great personal service and really friendly staff, relaxed and trendy interior, and though the rooms are relatively basic they are nice, warm and with a very comfortable bed and shower! Breakfast and dinner is included, however, I did not eat dinner... More

My stay at Hotel Monterosa was very satisfactory. The hotel has been recently renovated, which has given it a remarkable facelift. The lounge is inviting, and the dining room has a rustic, yet impressive, appearance. The breakfast didn't leave anything to be desired, as did the staff's service. The bathroom might be considered small for a family of four, but... More

Feels like the place to be in the 3 valleys. Close to the lift and the end of the run. Nice bar downstairs. Simple but tasty breakfast. Super friendly staff, helpful with everything. Yes - the bells do go on through the night but none of us were that bothered by it. The village is quiet and atmospheric. The bathroom... More

This "Grand Hotel" have seen its best days, it reminded me of Outlook in The Shining.. The breakfast and dinners were alot about cheese and very very white bread. We had very hard to sleep, don't know if it was all the bad food or just random ghosts. I found a cockroach swimming in our toilet one morning! Owners were... More

The rooms were just ok with a few problems. The bathroom was so small that You could sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the sink at the same time. The showers barely could hold the average male and ours had black mold so bad that we had to keep the door to the bathroom closed at all... More

Warm, friendly, helpful owners/managers/staff for ski area in Alagna with good accomodations and meal plan. Stayed 10 days to ski Feb. 2011 and enjoyed the entire time. Perfectly situated for all our activities and the hotel personnel were so welcoming. Would recommend this hotel and do it again ourselves without hesitation!! Church next door has beautiful bells and the town... More

Stayed for four nights (March 9-13, 2011) and enjoyed it tremendously. Location is great, 2-3 minutes walk to ski lift and ski rental. Great bar, Caffè delle Guide, in the basement - a real hang out place for skiers. Enjoyed the half-board: one free starter, 2 normal starters and 2 main courses to choose between, and then one dessert. Local... More
