We much enjoyed our two-night stay in this charming house set in a lovely garden. We had chosen the Sunny Room and it lived up to its name with windows overlooking the gardens and fantastic views. The room wasn't large but it had some very nice touches with biscuits and a chocolate on the beverage tray, a large bottle of... More

We stayed in the French Room. Not massive but big enough, and very well appointed and provisioned. Very comfortable bed. The house has plenty of spaces for visitors to relax outside of their rooms - by the inglenook fireplace downstairs with a selection of books; on the large landing with a card table and a selection of games; and probably... Had a lovely long weekend stay. Comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. The shower was rather small but served its purpose. Highly recommended. One word of warning do not trust sat navigation to get you here. Print off the instructions from the website and enjoy.

This lovely house and garden is in a beautiful location down a quiet country lane. We had a room at the back overlooking the gardens and countryside beyond but it was a bit on the small side although it had the advantage of two windows giving it a good outlook. The furnishings are very fussy with a strange tassel decoration... More

If you are looking for 17th century Tudor house, with beams and an inglenook fireplace, situated in a quiet country lane. If you are looking for a view over the South Downs with a beautiful, well-kept picturesque garden to view from. If you are looking for peace and quiet; just the birds singing and an occasional horse trotting by. If... More

Everything perfect. Super-comfortable bed. Beautifully furnished, cosy house with fantastic country garden and lovely surroundings. Stylish would be a better description than quaint or trendy. Very good recommendations for nearby places to eat at. Strategically located for easy access to Eastbourne, Battle and Hastings and the fine country to the north.

We recently spent a weekend here following a very pleasant stay in 2002. On both occasions we chose the property due to it being dog friendly. The same couple still run the business & their hospitality is still outstanding. The property is a beautiful old house with lots of period features. some of the rooms are a bit small (inevitable... We stayed four nights and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was the Sunny Room. The breakfasts were delicious and always came nice and hot. The home is so lovely and the welcome was most friendly. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Beautiful house and grounds. We were able to bring our dog too which was lovely. Sally was the perfect host. Her home is just amazing so clean tidy and homely. We had the balcony room which was lovely. The bed was so comfortable and the quilt and covers of high quality. We had an ensuite shower and bath room which... More

Beautiful country house in close to nature setting. I took my Mum for a few days stay here with our dog , they are genuinely 'dog friendly' people rather than just paying lip service like some, Sally and Douglas clearly work hard to create an experience that communicates both class and elegance-in particular with the breakfast setting and the way...
