My one night stay was what I expected - clean, refurbished rooms, a bit old world but that was what I expected - so no faults or issues. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

What a great experience for us. The staff were friendly, the rooms warm, clean and well appointed, good shower and the food was superb. The views across the loch ensured you knew you were in Scotland and thank you for kippers on the breakfast menu. Will return even though we come for Australia!

Just stayed at this hotel for a night . Lovely old hotel with period furniture . It is on the main road across from the loch so marvellous views and and it does sit back a bit . The food was good but above average prices and although beautifully presented it is normal fayre. The hotel charges for drinks are... More

Found myself late in Oban after a busy day and was recommended the Knipoch. It was a real treat. With warm and comfortable public areas for relaxing and a commendable restaurant I passed a pleasant evening rewinding after a hectic day. Dinner was to top class and the waiter charming, witty and engaging. Retiring to bed the linens were of... More

We stayed here recently as a part of a small walking tour. The site was lovely. The reception was efficient and helpful. I needed a space for drying a sweater and it was taken care of. I thought the rooms and baths were dated and could use some upgrading. I had a large bathroom, very tiny shower. My bed was almost... More

The hotel is superbly situated on the lochside 6 miles south of Oban. The noise from the main road is minimal and not obtrusive. The Georgian styled exterior is attractive and there are fine walks with lovely views towards Mull and Ben Cruachan immediately at the back of the hotel. My room was cmfortable and facing towards the loch had... More

The Knipoch (pronounced neepok) is six miles south of Oban on the loch side very close to the community on Seil Island. Set back from the road almost all rooms have lovely views over the lawns to the waterside. The welcome was warm Scottish and our room was on the corner of the building with its own sitting room, spacious... More

We were expecting a warm welcome and to be pampered, given the hotel's website and price. However we were processed with ruthless efficiency on arrival, at dinner and breakfast. I concur with other comments regarding the tired bathroom suites. We had a bathroom fan that went on for ever after it was switched off. The view across the road is... More

I was given the room above the entrance. It had a beautiful view over the loch and was clean. The bed was ok, the bathroom was dated. Although there was a notice in the room about the brown colored water being safe to drink, I was put off by it and didn't shower. The clothes I washed in the sink... More

Thank you for taking time and writing a review about Knipoch Hotel. We have noted your comment about smokers. I would like to take this opportunity and explain about the water. Coloured water is a very common feature in Scotland in the countryside, especially during a hot and dry summer. The water is coloured by the peat in the ground... More

Located on an A road, albeit a quiet one with only the occasional car or two, across that road is the beautiful Loch Feochan which was also our bedroom view. The bedroom was comfortable with a decent sized (although not huge) bed. The bathroom was rather dark and dingy and had a noisy extractor fan which seemed to stay on... More
