The resort is beautiful. The rooms at the front are spacious and clean. The bath is huge and the bed is very comfortable. Staff are excellent and the pool is lovely. There is a small but adequate gym.

I arrived by helicopter after a hard day's air work in Arnhem Land and was grateful for the warm welcome and efficient check-in. I was assigned Suite 234 in the Motel wing which I found easily after a short walk. Very comfortable and spacious, with up-to-the-minute bathroom. The Resort sprawls over a large area, with a range of bungalows, cabins... More

I forgot to write a review for the dugong which I have stayed many times for work. This is a beautiful resort on Groote and if you get the chance you should visit. Amazing food and views plus beautiful rooms and some with spas overlooking the ocean. Surrounded by Aboriginal tradition and culture you can do some amazing day trips... More

Was an amazing experience to stay here - my partner and I re-visited Groote Eylandt with my dad and sister staying in beachfront bungalows. Beautifully situated looking out over the water to Connexion Island enjoying the sunsets each night and listening to the ocean on the beach as the tide came in. The food was good and the staff were... More

Staying in one of the beach front bungalows overlooking the water is very relaxing. The staff could not be more helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious as was the continental breakfast and fruit platter in the room. You can't swim in the water but the pool is very pleasant. The rooms are very clean, beds extremely comfortable with great... More

My first time in Groote staying at the Dugong. A lovely place, friendly staff, clean rooms, nice surroundings, good food. The beach front walks so relaxing and the rocks by the fishermans village just ideal to sit and chill watching the world go by!! Loved it here...

I got chalet No.1 right on the seafront and it has been great. A lovely verandah with direct view over the sea maybe 10 meters away, I just don't want to do anything. Managed the 2 minute walk to the art centre, bought some art, and then back again to the verandah to carry on serious business of relaxing. The... More

We drove for an hour in anticipation for a great meal. The staff were friendly but lacked much understanding of the waiting role. Entree's came out quickly and were fine. Main course followed later. Broccolini on both plates were off. Slimy and smelled off. Meats were dried out and you could tell they were on the brink of turning. Then... More

Good experience for a remote lodge. Staff good. Room over waterfront (fishing lodge standalones) excellent in size and cleanliness. Value could be improved a little - but this better value than other remote properties I have stayed at. And the fishing - omg! Awesome.

After reading some of the comments, i am some what bewildered as to the negativity. I have been on the Island for some 18 Months and the resort is my home away from home. It is unfortunate that some people have had a bad run, but hey that can happen any where in any accomodation. As for the incompetent Back... More
