We visited the Anchor Inn for lunch on a day trip to Beer. Started out in the beer garden across the road (magnificent views of the coastline and cliffs) and then ducked indoors for lunch just before the rain came down. Delicious seafood; fast, friendly service, great location, what more could we ask? (maybe better weather!)

A firm favourite with my parents, The anchor is a typically British establishment. The service is very attentive but still has that relaxed, friendly Devonshire attitude! The building and grounds are beautiful - well worth a peek, even if you're not going to utilise their massive beer garden!

We had a family lunch here at the end of August. The food was ok and the staff friendly. But apart from the view we couldn't work out why this place gets rave reviews. It began to rain (Devon in August! ;-) ) so we moved inside where we were treated to occasional gusts of toilet smells, which really needs... More

Great food, fantastic menu and friendly service, just the ticket for lunch. Visiting just for the day. Really good sized portions and very good value for money. Will be visiting the Anchor again, most definately! Beer is a lovely village, well worth visiting.

Lovely location for a pub lunch. Stunning views from the garden over the beech of Beer. Friendly good service and reasonable value for money food. Hotel staff were welcoming and eager to help. Beer is a lovely village and well worth the visit.

Popped in here for some beer last week and sat in the beer garden overlooking the sea. The location is great and the beer very good. We have eaten here before a while ago and found the food to be nice. What I really liked about this place is we also had a pint of lime and soda for a... More

We chose the Anchor Inn due to it's stunning location and proximity to the beach. From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming and helpful, which continued throughout the week. The room was very clean and comfortable, with an amazing view of the beach. The restaurant offered daily fish specials caught locally (booking a table is recommended as... More

Visited Beer with my friends who I don't see very often, was recommended the Anchor Inn for food and it was lovely, the food was served quickly, staff friendly and good value, the atmosphere was very calm and there was no loud music, would definitely visit again and would recommend to my family.

Nice beer garden, could be improved by leveling as some seats at such an angle you almost slide to the floor. Menu had a good selection, food arrived quickly and was lovely. Very helpful staff who know the menu well and were able to help with all are questions. We will be coming back again soon, dog enjoyed the garden... More

Nice pub with great beer garden and good food. Only let down by one moody tattooed moron of a barman who doesn't even know the weights and measures law we have within the UK and therefore cannot poor a proper pint, maybe too interested in his phone. Great pub other then that, highly recommended.
