I can highly recommend the 'sticky beef'. The quality of the food is absolutely superb, plentiful and delicious. We dined as a family over the easter weekend, it was very busy, but we were not kept waiting for our food, or crammed in, best to book and confirm your booking a couple of days beforehand. The staff are very accommodating.... More

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, both for B&B and restaurant. Lovely clean and comfortable room, tasty breakfast/dinner, friendly service, excellent value for money... no complaints. Very handy for Longleat.

We went here for the second time after a 6 month gap. I wasn't aware of the refurbishment but it was most welcome and really needed. After explaining to the bar keep about my specific diet and nutritional requirements he was very forthcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. We didn't have starters as we arrived quite late in the day. I... More

In a lovely setting a short car ride from Longleat. Friendly and welcoming. They only have 2 rooms which are spacious, and clean. A very comfortable bed so we had a very good nights sleep. A few niggles a shelf in the shower would be useful and a better wardrobe I am short so the rail was a challenge. We were... More

Went for Sunday lunch last weekend - three of us. Looking great after refurbishment, staff so welcoming and attentive. We all had roast chicken breast with balsamic onions, which was served with carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and roast parsnips together with amazing roast potatoes! Food was cooked to perfection and presented so well. Portions were so filling sadly no room... More

Visited on 30th Janauary, first Friday open after being closed for refurbishment, the food was lovely, my mackeral and my husbands ox cheek fritter starters were gorgeous and main course of game stew and sea bass were amazing, unfortunately no room for dessert, would recommed, especially now the surroundings are comfortable and fresh, however still keep its country pub charm.

Visited for lunch on a dreary day. Warm and cosy pub with a warm welcome and excellent service. Food was fresh and well cooked and presented. Good local beers too. Sorry to have to go back out into the cold.

This is a little gem of a country pub and perfect for Sunday lunch. I suspect the reason it keeps getting our repeat trade because it is dog friendly (as all good country pubs should be!). We're able to eat in the bar, and my dog is able to stretch out in front of the fire after a long walk.... More

Stayed for one night in October, such a nice warm welcome, we arrived late but were still offered dinner which was really good I had the famous Sticky Beef with braised Red Cabbage, it was soooo good. We stayed in The Right Room which was large and comfortable with a great shower! Breakfast was Yummy too!

Very nice country pub with excellent food. In particular I like their Sausage in a bagette. The pub is also close by to a fishing lake which makes a pleasant drive to the pub. They also keep a very nice bitter called I think Potters it is only 3.8% which is helpful for drivers.
